What a great ride report! Perhaps the ride was so tough because you had your Fazer set to 'stun'?
Jokes aside, I bet this was great bonding experience for you and the bike, and now she has fully earned your trust. Regarding the lack of a fairing- I have found: it's much cooler in the summer, that it buffets LESS than a fairing, that it's quite windy north of 120mph, and BUGS, BUGS, BUGS.

Again, a very enjoyable read, thanks for sharing your adventure.

And what Jim said too!!!

:plus1: Though it will be a good idea to bring plenty of tools with the beater I'm rollin' on.
Awesome write up. I think you have officially attained BAMF status.

It's apparently actually an FZ1, not a Fazer. While in the US, the half-faired version sold here is known as the FZ1, in the rest of the world it's known as the Fazer, and the naked version is the FZ1. Since mine has undergone the naked conversion, it's now a "real" FZ1.

On an F4i? A guy over on the VFR forums just hit 200k on his. Tough to imagine a more reliable motorcycle! I didn't bring any tools with me, either... I was going to try and at least bring a tire plug kit, but I didn't think I would be able to get it through airport security, so I didn't even have that. Luckily, I didn't need anything along the way...

You are probably right. Only one way to find out.

Very nice write-up sckego and even nicer bike! VERY good choice on going with a naked converted bike! Maybe I'll get a by-week in my chem lab and get to come to bike night and check it out!
