alternative to GoPro Nabi Square HD Camera

Post by Polokid69 » Tue May 17, 2016 11:11 am

Cost about $70 on Amazon but has been on sale on Woot for as low as $50. Most reviews seem good and is compatible with most GoPro mounts and accessories. Comes with a remote, and LCD screen, a small micro SD card(8GB) and some mounts. Going to test the video and see how it works and let you know but seems well made.

Scott I was just looking at a go pro, but I would love to save some money with a Nabi. What do you think about yours so far?

I've only used it once and the video was pretty good on par with my last GoPro which was one of the early ones. I just got an accessory package that has like 50 different kind of mounts for $18. Gonna play with it some more and I'll let you know. I'll try to post my first video so you can see the quality.

I've been looking for a camera that mounts directly to my helmet, the Sony's, nor the GoPro's for that matter have what I would call a helmet friendly form factor.

I've been looking at the new Sena Prism Tube, or the Replay XD Mini 1080...both are basically streamlined tubes that are much more conducive to helmet install without looking like you've glued a brick to your lid. Seems the Sena is a little hard to find right now, but it's priced at $119 retail it appears. Pretty basic in operation/features/use, but that's what I'm looking for...I think.

That Sena tube looks like it would be good for mounting to a helmet

That would be great! Thank you...

I agree Terry, the ability to mount it is a big part of the decision.

I thought my Sony action cam worked pretty well on my helmet. I'll see if I can did up a pic of it mounted up there.

I should be receiving the Sony Action Cam Helmet kit any day...I just decided to use what I had, and I saw some nice looking installs. I think I was trying to make it harder than it was. I'm interested in seeing yours (install pics that is).
