For what its worth, many riders spend an extraordinary amount of time to find the "cheapest good" helmet that they can find, only to arrive at a Shoei or Arai down the road anyway. Once you've worn one of those, you probably won't want to back to the cheapos. Scorpion helmets are not bad, but nothing compared to the good stuff.

I don't necessarily agree with this, but I agree that eventually you end up with a not-cheap helmet.

Any DOT helmet will protect you in a crash.

A very cheap DOT helmet will make your life miserable the whole time you're not crashing. They're heavy, loud, and fit poorly.

I had a Shoei Qwest. I liked it a lot. $330, Snell 2010 and very comfortable.

There, Large Shoei Qwest brand new in box, lowball the piss out of him at like $130 and go from there.

EDIT: If you want to know if you like the fit before hand you can try mine on. Same size just a little bit damaged.

Here's a guy selling an Arai XL Profile for $150. Says it's only been work about a dozen times.

He has a suit and boots as well that he's selling really cheap.

I emailed him about the suit, but then realized that there is no way it will fit me...i believe i'm about a 52euro. Hell of a price on those boots as well, if they weren't blue i'd jump all over those

I have that same suit, it's nice. If I was a little more shrunk down I'd consider buying it.

Heck, if he doesn't sell it soon maybe I'll buy it anyway for when I will fit it. Mine is a 64 and is getting a little loose.
