Business suit

So in the next month i'm in the market for a new suit. Right now i've been looking at the Held Slade on sale @ $850. I doubt i can beat that price and quality. I'm just seeing if anyone has any hook ups or any suggestions. I'm kind of picky, but i will buy a used suit in very good condition. The more money i save the more i can put into other stuff on the bike. Any suggestions?

I'm having a hard time with this. I've pretty much set my mind set on a dainese or the held, but i want so badly to go with something cheaper so i can put money towards something else. A good suit will last me forever and i don't want to slack any on protection. I may just go ahead with the held

Cow leather is cow leather.

You're not buying significantly more protection until you step up to something like kangaroo ($2k-3k).

And your suit won't necessarily last forever--every time you sweat in it, you weaken it. It won't fall apart, but the abrasion resistance won't be the same unless you're super diligent about conditioning the leather.

the Held is 30% kangaroo. I'm not stupid enough to think it will last forever, just more or less poor choice of wording

Yea i don't think it will be me, but i'm curious to see it in person. I do need ohlins rear shock to go along with a suit better retract that statement real quick with the money left over i'm buying a mountain bike

May I suggest the Berik / Arlen Ness line of suits. A little bit more pricey but in my opinion better quality. Or maybe the Spidi / Spyke line of suits also in my opinion very good suits in that $900 price range.

Just got done trying on a few suits. Revit tarmac was the best one i found in my price range, a lot of great features on it. You could tell the difference between revits leather and a semi cheaper suit. good stuff!

Yes, I was quite impressed with the revit suit. They didn't have one in stock, but there is a revit CR that cost 500. I know it has less perforation, but other than that I'm thinking it just looks different. I may end up going with that one

Is the CR Revit suit a 2 piece?

No a one piece. Everything I've read says its basically the same suit with a different design and less ventilation. Although all the arm stuff is vented. And it's only 500!

If the Held suit is anything like the Held gloves it'll be a great quality suit. But if it doesnt fit right it doesnt matter how good the quality is it wont be comfortable.

As for Dainese, I've had several and loved them. The thing to remember here though is that the cheapest Dainese is no better than the cheapest suit from many other brands. They build to a price. The W-Frame I have fits me perfectly and also happens to be amazing quality.

Remember that if the suit doesnt fit right the armor will rotate away from sensitive areas as soon as you hit the ground, and once that happens you might as well have none at all. The suit has to be snug enough to prevent that and still be comfortable. Everyone has a different body shape and a suit that I rave about may not fit anyone else like it fits me. Make sure you try on as many as you can to guarantee you get the best balance between fit and quality.
