Does anyone have a drill press?

Post by Polokid69 » Wed Mar 13, 2013 10:03 am

I need to drill a couple holes in this lower exhaust cover I got. The holes on it are not centered correctly making it too tight on the right side and a gap on the left. I'm afraid of drilling it freehand and scratching the painted surface.

If you are just wanting to to expand the hole a round cut file may work easiest. A dremil and a grinding stone would accomplish the tast as well.

The holes just need to be moved over a tad. I just don't want damage the plastic or damage the paint

Eh, it's plastic, just push it into place. :D

I'd use a round file for that job instead of trying to drill it.

Also you loosened ALL the mounting bolts before you got to that point, right?

Cover the paint in painters tape before you do any cutting

What does buying a Honda and modding an accessory have to do with each other?

He doesn't want a Honda, gas is expensive.

I would just bend it into place, it's plastic it should flex

Seriously, I really want to drill those holes with a drill press or have someone do it for me. This thing was not cheap so I don't want to F-it up!

I would but I really like it and I think I can adjust it. I asked the company for a partial refund in exchange for keeping it so I'll see how that goes

Then you need to tell them it doesn't fit your 2012 model and would like a replacement.
