Ok I've got a spot across from the classroom. I didn't set up my canopy because the winds were whipping and it started to rain. Tried to make the picture right side up but it didn't work. Probably going to get there by like 630 tomorrow morning now that I have set up the canopy.

What happened out there today? I'm hearing some bad stories of a death on the track. Do any of you guys who were out there today have any real news? I'll i'm hearing is wild speculation.

Level 2 run group. 3 bikes involved. From what I heard one bike clipped the inside curb going into ricochet and went down. From there it's all fuzzy. Some say the rider was struck trying to reenter the track. One of the downed riders started CPR immediately. It was the first session of the day after round robin. I was waiting under the awning waiting to enter the track when it happened. Level one never got on the track and they cancelled the track day about 2 hours after the rider went down. They never announced that the rider had passed away, but we all figured it out. First clue was when the police shows up and went out on the track.

This is very sad to hear. I'm hoping to learn more of the story. Every crash, off, or close call is an opportunity to learn, and I certainly want to know what led to this so I'm comfortable not making the same mistakes if I'm ever on that track.

OMG! wow, this is nuts just being there on Saturday! I definitely won't be going back until I get my brakes to stop defaulting mid run to the non ABS fail safe! I didn't say anything Saturday because I thought they would take me off the track and maybe that would have been the smarter thing to do... Dam that sucks that someone died!

So it did happen how I heard it. He clipped the inside curb in ricochet and was struck by another rider.

Did some more digging. It appears that the riders helmet had a quick release on it that failed.

I'm honestly surprised they are allowed ln the track. Something tells me if this story is true, they won't be for long....

Make up day is the 31st of October. I guess since I was the only one there from the club the rest of ya probably don't care unless you are going to attend on the 31st.

Nope...don't care not because you will be there but because it is HALLOWEEN!!! We take that shit seriously in this house. IF it wasn't halloween, I would come to the track to annoy you (you wouldn't expect anything less from me) :D .

If you want to come over for Halloween instead of the track day, come on over. Bring your scary costume!!!
