People run 190s on those rims all the time, its actually fairly standard (with some tire manufacturers actively pushing their 190s). That said, it will affect the handling of the bike. Try it out and see if you like it.

I ran 190's on my old race bike (rim designed for 180's). Here's the thing. When you run a wider tire on a more narrow rim, it actually gives you more of a rounded profile on the rear tire. That translates to just a hair more surface area on the edge of the tire. The downside is on the street, you're going to square off the tire much more profoundly. Here is a simple drawing that conveys what a 190 looks like compared to a 180 both mounted on a 180 rim (the pic is for something else but hey it serves the purpose. You could take a peice of string, both 180mm and 190mm, and hold the ends together and see which one drops more...)

I personally preferred running a 190 on the rear tire. Happened by chance (the Dunlop guy only had the D211's in 190s), but I really preferred it. That being said though, I would only do it again on the track, not on the street from the added wear you get during freeway commutes.

My new suit finally arrived. Custom fit, vented and fully perforated. It'll be so nice to not have to deal with that vest anymore.

Is that the tree from which Jim took a seed and now has a pecan growing in his backyard?
