This will be an intermediate pace ride. The pace on the country roads is what we call spirited and has a tendency to remain above posted speeds. On an Intermediate ride the ride leader will keep an eye on the group but is also focused on riding his/her own ride. Intermediate rides the riders are expected to be comfortable riding with the group and have good self control, allowing the ride leader to "relax" a bit.

Please be dressed appropriately: full face helmet, zip together mesh at a minimum (leathers recommended), appropriate motorcycle boots and gloves. Jeans are not appropriate protection for intermediate rides.

Heading north, since this is a holiday weekend we will get to lunch early, so if your going to eat at sonic don't pig out, I want to beat the crowds so it's only about 50 miles to lunch with up to two stops along the way, you'll see why. After lunch we'll head out and complete a loop, the ride will end at the sonic we started at unless someone wants to join me for a really awesome rootbeer float then you can continue on with me to a place that sells awesome rootbeer floats. There are no technical twisties on this route, but there is sweepers and nice pavement.

I've arranged for pick up tomorrow afternoon at 4pm. Anyone want to go back up there with me and make sure he doesn't go Deliverance on me?

So I got my bag back, but Dwayne was waiting there with a Deputy Sherrif. They were both very nice.

However, they said they'll be out there every weekend now and to watch out.

I think I got lucky getting the bag back, and with the warning from the deputy today. Have safe rest of the weekend all!

They won't be there. It's too far away from anything to waste the manpower 'in case' people go out there. They've known for years people go out there to race and they still don't sit there waiting.

The warning was just harassment, nothing he could do. and like Jim said they have known for years.

Oh, and glad you got your bag back. Anything missing?

Nope all there! However, more shenanigans today - I had a couple of local Harley riders tag along with me just in case Dwayne turned out to be a weirdo. First time I led a ride!

The first Harley was two up, and they broke down right before we got to the scenic drop down view before the stop light about 15 miles from the bridge. Engine wouldn't keep running after he turned it...could have been a blown plug? Had to call AAA and pick them up. Anyway, the second Harley stayed behind to stay with them, while I went to pick up the bag from Wayne.

After I got the bag from Dwayne, and talked to the deputy, I had Dwayne call one of the Harley guys from my phone using his southern drawl... "Say...was that your friend "Sam" that came up here to Oklahoma? What was he doing up here? Well, mighty nice bike he had, I'll take it for a ride now, too bad about your friend!" The deputy and I were cracking up in the middle of all this!

Scared the Harley guys silly, they thought I was hacked up to pieces and thrown under the bridge!

Soo... I dropped it off by the stop sign at the end of the bridge like I've done before...to be more uh...aerodynamic.

I blame it on Jim, who said it might get stolen... and jinxed it!

Since when do "good" Samaritans go the extra mile to include the law and threats in their good deeds? Sam I'm glad you got your bag back, and I agree that was a blast! Thanks for leading Rick.
