What is this about and how does this work? What's a racing resume? Do you guys have an example?

Triumph Motorcycles America is pleased to announce it’s 2017 Racer Support Program, offering riders the opportunity to purchase a Daytona 675R at a reduced price for participation in any national amateur or professionally sanctioned race series.
The Triumph Racer Support Program offers Daytona 675Rs available for purchase at $10,000. With the purchase of a motorcycle through this program, parts will be offered at a reduced cost of 50% off retail pricing for the 2017 racing season.
The Triumph Daytona 675R, with its powerful triple motor, is the ultimate showroom to track motorcycle. The Öhlins TTX rear suspension and NIX30 fork cartridges, paired with Brembo Monobloc calipers and a Triumph quick-shifter standard, create a bike that’s ready to take on the fiercest competition on the track with minimal changes needed.
In addition to the motorcycle and parts support, Triumph is continuing the Race for Free opportunity. All competitors in the Racer Support Program, and racing in any National Road Racing Series, will receive reimbursement of their race entries. This includes competing in any MotoAmerica, WERA Grand National Challenge, ASRA and ARHMA races.
As a stipulation to be included in Triumph’s 2017 Racer Support Program, including discounted parts and entry reimbursement, a purchase of a Daytona 675R is required. To be considered for the purchase of a motorcycle through this program, please send racing resumes and 2017 race schedule HERE.

It looks to me like triumph is trying to get their foot further into the race door, motoGP then this.

Sure can, not sure what kind of weight my word will hold tho!

I would love to get a good test ride on a 675, I have heard so much good about them but I don't see them quite as often as other brands.

because they cost as much as a liter bike. Pretty much what it boils down too. If they cost what a R6/GSX-r/CBR600 they would be more prominent would be my guess. I dunno, the extra money for the olin's and brembo's built on were enough for me to justify cost, but I did get a 2014 last year new so that's the only reason it made sense. New ones are 13.5k or something crazy.

I don't know about a "good" test ride, but Eurosport has a 2017 675R listed on their demo bikes page.

Daytona 675 msrp is 11,999.
GSXR 600 msrp is 11,199.
GSXR 1000 "intro" is 14,599.

The reason you don't see them around as much is because...... they aren't around as much. If there were more than 3 triumph dealers in DFW, there would be a lot more on the road. But Triumph has never strove to make a sales leader, always a performance leader, common class attitributes not considered.

About half the rides I was on, there were more Triumphs than any other brand. Several rides, it was 50% of the bikes or more.

Good riders know good bikes...
