Bwahahahaha, who suck is in P&R? And is this a political issue, or a religious one?
The agnostic socially progressive fiscal conservatives call dibs on Pie. Everyone else can fight over cake.

okay, here is one to throw into the mix...
Cake is typically a risen bread type of base that is iced with sweet frosting, in some instances the cakey (risen bread) portion of a cake is replaced by ice-cream, making an ice-cream cake
Pie is typically a desert that has a filing that is completely contained by a crust
now here is the kicker...
where do Cheese Cake and Boston Cream Pie fit into the mix?

May qualify those as pie crusted gelatins.
Now you really want to throw a wrench in it. Based on your description.
Meat of Snail wrote:Pie is typically a desert that has a filing that is completely contained by a crust
The real kicker would then be..... Cobbler.

if you were not aware, Boston Cream Pie does not have a crust, yet consists of two layers of cakey goodness separated by a custard and iced with a rich chocolate frosting...
in my opinion cobbler falls more into the relm of a pudding simmilar to bread pudding etc.

Fucking cobbler is the bomb. I don't care who you are. Cherry cobbler, cooked in a dutch oven for hours under the coals of a hot fire while out camping, with a cup of cowboy cocoa. Now that's what I'm talking about. Fuckin' A.

But yeah, Cobbler is Pie's Hot sister. Even though your good friends you'll nail her if you have the chance.
