Anytime, but you HAVE to help promote FWMR at those parties so you have to act in the club's best interest!! We need some more lady riders here...or you could get some from corner working (checking them out while they wizz by you on their bike).

Granted, I find that it can be a bit tricky to hand out club cards while they're zipping by on the track. Black flag them first, then have the race marshal (Rick) hand out the cards! :D

Anyone know if the rider safety class taken in Texas to get an endorsement will be good in my home state of LA?

It will not, you get a TX certificate when you're done.

However if you get your M endorsement, that may transfer to LA without you having to do anything. Or you may have to start the process all over. That's really up to LA. I'd call their DPS or DMV or whoever handles licensing to ask.

Many of you probably already get this, but if not...

Fireworks are over, it's time to hit the track!

Eagles Fly in July!
Double Eagle Days - ECR - July 12 and 13 we're back at Eagles Canyon Raceway in north Texas, where we will have a Double Day Weekend. With its 17 turns, 65 foot elevation change, and 2.5 mile length, it's a favorite of many trackday enthusiasts. Nestled in the hills 13 miles north of Decatur, ECR is a must ride! Cost is only $100 per day. And don't forget, on Saturday, we will be offering the ARC class (see below) for only $50 more. Come ride with us on both days!

Texas World Speedway July 19!
Just in time for the races!
July 19, we're at historic Texas World. We still have some spots open for this great track. TWS was built in 1969 and is one of only seven "Super Speedways" of 2 miles or greater in the United States. It's unofficial record top speed on the banked oval is 234 mph, and the front straight still uses a portion of the loop and boasts an 8 degree bank. The 2.9 mile road course is still one of the fastest tracks in Texas. Come ride TWS while it is still here!

August 2 - Motorsport Ranch at Cresson 1.3 and the Cruisers and Tourers Are Back!
We've back at the popular Cresson 1.3 to our schedule for Augsut 2. At only $120, it's a great bargain to get some fun times on this tight track with challenging elevation changes. We'll also be offering the "Cruisers and Tourers" group, so if you've got a street ridin' buddy that has a cruiser or a tourer, this is the event for them. The 1.3 is a tight track and you can get in plenty of laps in your 20 minute sessions. (We do not offer Level 3 on the 1.3 track).

August 3 - Cresson 1.7 and ARC!
We'll be running the 1.7 mile CCW and offering the ARC (see below). If you've never made it to Cresson, now is the time! With turn names like "Rattlesnake", "Big Bend", and "Buzzard's Neck", Cresson is a must ride and one of our favorite tracks.
Try the 1.3 on Saturday and the 1.7 on Sunday. Two tracks, one weekend, what a great time!

ARC Class at ECR July 12 and MSR August 3
The ARC class will be available at ECR and MSR! Led by Allan "Whoop" Campbell, this class is designed for students looking to advance to Level 3 or current Level 3 riders and club racers eager to learn more advanced riding techniques. If you've been in Level 2 for a while, instructors have recommended you to move up, you're thinking about it but have concerns, you are perfect for the ARC class. Now is the time to take the class. The ARC combines a classroom presentation with instant bike cam feedback to deliver what we believe is a learning experience second to none. The class consists of on-track sessions and classroom time. Each student will be videoed and critiqued. The class is an additional $50 above the track day fee (limited space - sign up with your Level 3 registration).

The June COTA event was a blast and we have added a COTA event for September 6 and 7, 2014. Regisration will open soon, so watch for an email announcing it!

I'd love to, got a friggin' wedding to attend on Saturday afternoon, close friends and can't miss it.

Plus, I guess I'm going to have to replace my less than 1000 mile rear tire after ending up with a hole in it I had to plug this last weekend. I won't have that done in time either, don't even have it ordered yet. Just trying to decide whether to stay with the Metzeler I've liked a lot, or go Q3. Have fun, be safe.

I think I now even have a conflict on 8/2 & 3 I think it is at Cresson, which is killing me to miss also. I was looking forward to the 1.3.

Excuse me if I've missed it somewhere, but is anyone signed up for Cresson for 8/16 and/or 17?

What about ECR that same weekend with Extreme I think it is. Not sure what to expect there.

Thanks, Terry

No one in this house is.

If I can find a little money for tires I might try to do Extreme. Not looking great at the moment though.

I'm signed up for the 16th at MSR. Terry, if you want to ride that day, I'd be happy to work with you for a session or two.

http://www.ridesmart.info/ <---- the cheapest
http://www.lstd.com/html/index2.html <---- the fastest
http://extrememotorsportstrackdays.com/ <---- the cheaper than the cheapest
http://www.eurosportcycle.com/events.html <---- the best

ECR also offers open track days for motorcycles fairly regularly. Also, AMS Ducati Dallas offers track days at Cresson (Ducatis only).

You should do the Eurosport track day on the 27th, Valentina!

I'm sure most of you get this, but here's your last chance at ECR for several weeks at least.

They also plan on changing the layout by adding a turn or even a chicane between T5 and T6.

I'm all for more turns but surprised that they wouldn't do it between T6/T7. 7 is a good spot for overtaking though and the runoff area at 6 is nasty (not that I would know). I'm excited to try ECR V2.0.

Yeah, the back straight is bumpy and boring. That said, trying to outbrake everyone into T7 is fun, except when its not.
