Disappointment from Ebay

Ok I know there is always a risk with EBay so let's not go there...

I purchased "Flush" mount LED turn signals for my 2010 R1. I tried to mount today and they are not flush they are recessed in the fairings by about an inch. That is issue 1. Issue 2 is that these turn signals are not functioning as running lights either. I have contacted the seller and expect to get refund, so why am I telling the world this? First i just felt like venting and second I am hoping someone with a 2009 or 2010 R1 has been successful in aquiring true flush mount turn signals that retain the run light functionality as well.

Im not sure on the functionality aspect but for flush mounts you might want to take a look at watsen designs. Ive always wanted a set and ended up getting them on the big girl when i bought her. I really like them alot and would get another set for the little girl if i wasnt plannin on makin her a track only ride.

It's likely the bulbs that indicate if they are running lights as well as flashers. I believe they have to be dual filament?

Or some logic circuitry if the signals are LEDs. Single bulb/LEDS can be made to be run lights and turn signals, but it's a bit of a pain, and involves installing a trailer light controller. Same thing that they sell you if you want to turn your dual brake lights into brake and turn signals.

I checked your suggestion and those appear to be good quality, but I am looking for something cheaper (may not be possible.)

Along with the other, I'm not sure about the dual functionality. However, a lot of times those flush mount lights, have spacers that go in behind them, so they don't set recessed. I'd see if the seller forgot those spacers. If they don't have the spacers and won't let you do a return/refund, then pop into cyclegear. They have spacers.

No, most bikes don't have them these days.

I would like to keep the running lights as flush mount because it will act as side lights. That way after someone accidentally removes my reflectors during a bike night I can still be seen at night from profile.
