Sometimes bean paste or ume (pickled cherries) are added, but pretty much its just rice. Here's a cool photoset showing the process... its steamed and pounded in 10 lb batches, then rolled and packaged up to be given out. These pictures bring back memories... And Blizz, you start talking about food....

Hah! You think making lumpia takes a while... try mochi. Used to over to a friends house every New Years day, it was a tradition for them to get their family and friends together and make mochi for everyone. Pounding 120-150 lbs of rice into mochi is an all-day affair for 25+ people. Or you could go...

I hate you ):

As I posted earlier, Vic and I are going on a birthday weekend trip, leaving Friday morning, so I'm out for both the one party and t'other party. However, I'm sure you all will have a great time, and I'll post up my kalbi recipe when I get home so one of you guys can make it.

You just gave away your fib... they don't have those in Texas!

j/k, glad to hear you're ok and that your bike isn't too poorly off.

Beercap has one, pretty damn new too! I borrowed his a while back and managed to break it, so I bought him a new one. He might not be so willing to lend it out this time, though... I've used a grunge brush on both my SV and VFR... it makes cleaning a snap, and I haven't encountered any ill effects. ...

Great ride, all! Kinda hot, but I guess we can deal with that. Thanks to Jim for leading, and letting me take up the tail position for a ways. (: Hope Ever and Ruben made it back to Cleburne OK... post up and let us know!

PS, Grunge Brushes rock.

Yep. On the freeway, no less, doing nearly 70mph. He came in from the right, low, right across the nose of the bike. There was a brief poof of feathers, and that was it. No sensation of hitting anything, no carcass or blood or marks of any kind on the bike. *shrug* Still wouldn't want to hit one wit...

Dammit dammit DAMMIT! :-o My birthday is on the 10th. Vic told me a few days ago that as a present, she wanted to go on a 3-4 day trip somewhere, her treat. I thought, sweet, we could go either up to Arkansas again or down to Hill Country... then Mike puts up his post about the housewarming party I'...

Had a fun time this morning, even though 90% of it was sandy backroads/busy citystreets/boring freeways =P Even a slow cruise around residential areas is preferable to staying home and spending the day doing chores... and yes, we were warned beforehand, so dont' take this as complaining! BTW, just g...

Yeah, I know its not too smart to intentionally go for a ride when it's pouring outside, but I really do find it enjoyable. Besides, many would argue its not to smart to ride a motorcycle at all... its all about where you're willing to draw the line. That was the first time I'd gotten myself into a ...

Looks like its possible to string together a pretty nice little ride in the Sherman area. Road conditions depending, of course. I've never been riding up there... to bad its on the opposite side of the metromess. Oh well, more riding, right? :D

Boatercycling on Lake Hulen

Had a bit of an adventure last night... I put up a post about it on the VFR boards, and its decently entertaining, so I figured I'd put it here as well... BTW, the consensus over on the VFR board is that everything should be fine, maybe put some dielectric grease on any low electrical connectors to ...

My god, these fox announcers are making my head hurt. "The apex is the part of the turn where they get closest to the inner curb... this is a two-apex turn, which means they swing wide and then turn back in, making it seem like two different turns close together..."

Haha, I made it! :D I slept in until about 930 before rolling out of bed and heading off to spend a few hours at work. Was there for all of 15 minutes before I got around to checking in on the boards... "What? A ride today?... 10:30... holy crap, its 10:25 right now!" Lock up, run downstai...

Get a fully vented leather jacket. As long as you're moving at 10 mph or so, its not going to be hotter then anything else... in fact, it will probably be better then anything but mesh. It will get hot when you're stopped, but then, anything will. I bought a 2-pc suit from Ridegear on closeout for <...

We went to the Botanic Garden show... not the actual concert, just parked in an empty lot behind the garden and watched. It was a pretty decent show, and the best part was that you could also see another 3 or 4 shows within a few miles--one down to the south, looked like maybe it was the zoo, one of...

I have trouble seeing electric vehicles ever catch on except as short-range commuters. With more research and higher production numbers, they can solve the problems of high weight and high cost... but I don't think they can get away from the problem of recharging time. That bike has a claimed range ...

If we got a ride leader to lead the ride, we could then make it an official ride... I'll cover the leader's gas
Uh, according to the front page, you ARE a ride leader... so you'll cover your own gas? :-? I think Benny expressed interest in a trip as well. So either of you want to volunteer? :D
