Re: Rear Brake Use & Performance Riding
I use my rear brake on the tight corners and technical turns, other than that, unless its an emergency stop, I rarely us it. I dont ever think I changed the rear brake pad on the CBR in 60 thousand miles.

Re: Front Brake Vibration - Moderate Pressure
There really is no need to do any surface treatment. The most important thing is to properly bed the new pads in on the rotors. Anytime new brake components are installed the mating parts do not mate very well, as you can imagine. So, the braking occurs on a very small amount of the available area o...

Re: Traction Control and the Track
Once you're in the selected mode such as slick or race, you can only turn the DTC and ABS on or off. there are no further setting after that. unless you have the S1000RR HP4, then you have 8 or so different levels to select from on the DTC and ABS.

Re: Traction Control and the Track
I leave mine in "slick" mode all the time, I do on occasion find myself turning the DTC off and messing about. However, BMW has confirmed that they reduce power in the lower gears. Their rationale is that it is stupid to have a motor make power that cannot be put to the ground - in the low...

Re: Traction Control and the Track
Here is the break down of the BMW. Race ABS and DTC explained A. Power Mode: Rain The effect is to cut power to 150 bhp, reduce torque, and the throttle response is more gentle. Rain with Race ABS: The braking force is applied to both front and rear wheels; Rear wheel ABS operates even when only th...

Re: WTF? Car tire on a bile?
On a heavy bike like the goldwing I could understand using one for highway riding and mild canyon carving but with something a lot more lean angle, yeah that a bit silly unless you have no desire for twisties. however I have seen some brave wingers hit the twisties pretty hard with these tires. Car ...

Re: WTF? Car tire on a bile?
A lot of goldwing riders do the same thing. They buy a kumo track tire for a car and get 3 to 4 times the mileage out if it. Cost about the same.

Probably not, Flips has been opened well over a year and parking there still sucks. I dont expect Boomer Jacks to be any different, plus with the highway construction only get worse.....its gonna be a pain around there for a while.
