The one i worked on had that leak before it had done 5,000 miles. The owner didnt care enough to swap out the gasket so its still leaking.
Its amazing that this issue crosses multiple generations of that model and Kawasaki still chooses to do nothing to fix it.

Re: Always wanted one
The little 4-cylinder 250s are fun bikes, for a learner level rider. They sound amazing and look good, but power is an issue... It takes some effort to get into trouble... And yet they still have the expense of a much bigger 4-cylinder bike. The single cylinder 250s have more torque, less weight and...

Its interesting to see your bike has the same - or similar - oil leak that a 2013 ZX-6 has that I worked on recently.

I'd be there if I could ride. Or walk, for that matter. I'll have to wait until i can use my knee before I can come out again.

I did a few ZX6 valve adjusts last year and have a shim kit if you need to swap some shims. No charge.

Welcome.
I've done lots of 2-wheel track days and I've always wondered about the 4 wheel kind. Are there many at Cresson?

Re: Road riding video
You're absolutely right Rick - the people I mentioned were all riding like ass-hats on the street, treating a stretch of public road like a race track. And nothing has changed since I last went for a ride on that particular road. Each and every person I mentioned should have had the maturity and int...

Road riding video
I actually had a chance to ride a friends ZX-14 while I was in Sydney last month (before the surgery to screw my knee back together). I recorded some observations while I was riding on the most famous canyon road in Sydney. First installment is here: If anyone has any feedback I'd love to hear it. h...

Stay away from the 848. I've ridden on the track with many of them and their riders always say the same thing - it steers like the exxon valdez.

Re: Weird Coincidence
And yet, Rick, I bet if you had travelled to Australia and paid out of pocket it would have cost a tiny fraction of the $200k and your family could have had a nice vacation. In my case it was a complete coincidence that this happened - I already had the ticket when I hurt myself, but in the future t...

That is unfortunate. Unfortunate for the citizens of this country that the Government would rather funnel money to Big Business and the Military Industrial Complex, rather than to the citizens from which the money came. Fortunate that the Austrialian Government cares so greatly for people, regardle...

The top of the bone broke off and the piece flipped over, hence the failure to heal over the last 5 weeks. There is also a crack in the bone lower down but its the flipped piece that needs to be screwed back together.fixxervi6 wrote:That's odd that you needs screws, did they give you the xrays?

Weird Coincidence
So, this is the story so far; I bought a ticket to Australia for a long needed vacation which was also a good opportunity to ship my RGV back home and also do a track day while I was here. Then, shortly before I left I had a minor get-off while riding my KTM on grass and hurt my knee. I saw a doctor...

I used to do small production runs making subframes for TZ250/SV650/FZR400 race bikes. (10 or so per bike in a week)
