Re: Car & Bike drive/ride - July 24th
My bike can do 80 easy up to 100+mph, and I've tolerated up to 1.5 hrs of droning before. How exactly do you get your Ninja 250R to do 100+? Put it in the bed of a truck and drive 100+ Install a Ninja 500 motor Throw it off a cliff :SideSplittingLaughter: :SideSplittingLaughter: That's funny... you...

Re: Commuting in the heat
You still sweat while swimming, speedo or not. And you ideally shield yourself from the heat source be it a hot oven, intense sunlight, or a hot bike.

Re: Car & Bike drive/ride - July 24th
This may be one of the rare chances I get to do something with the group. It depends on what time and my wife's travel plans. Do you think I could hang? My bike can do 80 easy up to 100+mph, and I've tolerated up to 1.5 hrs of droning before.

Re: Commuting in the heat
Exercise, stay hydrated, and maintain your electrolytes. That will help you cope with the heat. All of my summer gear is mesh, and my helmet has like 11 vents on it, so after my 1330 commute lasting 20-30 min, I may just have a sweaty forehead, but that's about all, if that. I work on base which req...

Re: Girls on Bikes
I think this could also be one of those things that we can do with the kids (seeing how the 4 year old is still a wee bit too little to ride on the back of Fixxer's bike). No he's not. Just get one of these... jr2_ptt.jpg I wonder how many times the kid's face got slammed into the back of the guy's...

Re: Girls on Bikes
BTW I hasn't avoiding this thread. Restoring my computer's image took me a few days to get to. 1) I began riding because my paid off truck was stolen (dont ask...) and the 250r was the cheapest mode of practical transportation for me. 2) My wife only said what she did, because she was speaking from ...

Re: It wasn't worth it.
Nope I dont need to spend money on any of this.... Instead I will put a big bore kit on the bike making it a 1530 ish. Port the heads. Put a stage 2 turbo on it. Then just go fast enough that they dont even try to pull out at all. And do like Firewalls cop and just flip me off the whole way. :)) Th...

Re: Girls on Bikes
I remember my wife said some guy, back when my wife was at TCC, tried to hit on her even as she was wearing her wedding ring then kept persisting after she brought that fact to his attention! Speaking of my wife, she said she contemplated learning how to ride a bike, so she could ride my bike. I sai...

Re: How Old
I don't believe for a second she's 16. For one thing, she has a wedding ring on, so that makes it highly unlikely that she's a minor. Also, I doubt a teenager would get a boob job. They don't need one to attract boys their age and older pervs. Dying of the hair and boob jobs is something women start...

Re: It wasn't worth it.
Both laser light an radar's radio waves are electromagnetic energy. They're both technically "light". The shape of the bike would have to scatter the radar signal, and a radar absorbing coating would have to cover EVERY surface including the headlight, tires, the bodysuit, and face shield....

Re: The official quotes thread
Pitching? Catching? Sounds kinda queer... That's why I don't play baseball. I was a swimmer. Every morning I'd wake up to a bunch of girls in bathing suits getting all wet. Co-ed showers? No usually, but when it's winter and the girls hot water breaks where do you think they went? That's right...:Lo...

Well to be fair, I don't do Sony products either. And that was before they got hacked twice. Now I'm not sure if anyone would use Sony products.

Re: Versys- Almost Perfect and Perfectly Paradoxical
I see your point Dave that the Versys and 650r aren't too different, and both are comfortable sport-tourers with good bottom-end, but I argue the slight differences matter. The Versys has better low-end torque, more fork travel, adjustable front suspension, wider seat, more upright sitting position,...

Re: It wasn't worth it.
Now that I commute on a bike, yeah I still speed when I can and I even split cars sometimes, but overall I'm mostly concerned about safety, believe it or not. On a bike, survival is MOST important. Avoiding serious bodily injury is more important than speeding and worrying about cops. I used to focu...

Re: It wasn't worth it.
Do you have a radar detector for your bike DD? I wonder how good it is... And OMG I was a kid, and no it wasn't a high speed chase, because I quickly evaded him. No ticket, no arrest, no jail, no felony, and no deaths. Not only do I have experience with traffic cops, and traffic tickets, I have expe...

Re: Versys- Almost Perfect and Perfectly Paradoxical
I knew it could tour, but didn't think it could tour like that. That's amazing! Didn't get to ride the 650r, but the specs tell me it has a higher compression ratio and probably isn't designed for low-end torque that is needed for commuting. And the front fork isn't adjustable or suited for rougher ...

Yikes, your bike getting blown over... that scary, and it means anything I'll ever ride could it tipped over by gusts of wind too! Now I understand the importance of parking in gear. Thou art wise DD.

Re: Rider looking for family :D
Hi. I'm new too, and I commute on my bike, 250r, as well. I haven't been to a bike night or on a ride yet, because my schedule doesn't currently allow it, so I can't really attest as to how these guys are :-? ... j/k! Also, I'm a beginning rider. And sorry, I don't do facebook, social media, or Appl...
