Re: Cresson, July 16 & 17
Do you take the RSV4 on the 1.3? I've had the 250 out there but I think the ape is just too much for the 1.3, so I thought about maybe like rain mode? I have a hard time choosing between the RSV4 and the supermoto when riding on the 1.3. Last time on the 1.3 I spent half the day racing with another...

Re: Cresson, July 16 & 17
If you like working your tail off and always turning you'll love the 1.3. It is easily my favorite track in TX. Couldnt agree more. Except I would say its the best track after COTA... and easily the best way to learn how to ride well. On the 1.3, skill gets you good lap times not a larger engine. I...

On NPR recently they interviewed an anonymous source from the State Department who said many people there still use private, non-approved email providers because they dont have the budget to get everyone on the so-called secure servers.

Re: Bikes-then and now
Heres another from the 90's... This is me on my first race bike. Its a 1991 RGV. It had a 150 rear tire, which is no big deal now but it was wider than some 1000cc bikes at the time! I'm on my way to the tech garage at Phillip Island. Nice track, weird weather. I'd just had my street bike stolen so ...

Re: Greetings from Arlington Texas
Welcome Skids. Sorry I'm late to the conversation, but I also live in Arlington - right by Green Oaks, near the lake. I dont ride on the street anymore, track and dirt only for me these days. I take my kids riding on a grass field in Haslet as often as I can. If you ever want to get back on dirt let...

Re: Garage Door Screen
If bugs are the issue, I run a big fan which circulates the cooler outside air into the hot garage and also blows the bugs away from me. I see them buzzing around the lights but not around my face.

Ducati 996SPS resto blog
For a few months now I've been working on another restoration, this time a v-twin. I've been taking pictures throughout the process so I figured I'd put them all together with a little write up. I haven't posted it anywhere yet, I was hoping you folks could take a look and let me know what you think...

FYI, racers have used wide varieties of brake diameter and construction on the same (front) wheel in the past.

Re: Hail Hell
I went in today and was told the only solution to my problem is an Application for Authority to Dispose. Considering the vehicle is totalled the woman at the DMV said theres no point applying for a bonded title so the AAD is my only option. She said California is notorious for failing to honor their...

Re: Hail Hell
If I didnt have 2 boys rapidly outgrowing the rear jumpseats in the Ranger I'd happily keep it. But pretty soon they'll be too big to fit in it. I need 4 doors and four real seats. The insurance will pay out a lot more than I would get for it even in pristine condition so I need to make this happen ...

Re: Hail Hell
the auction wasnt a good option. I've increased the budget so I can get something decent, but now the insurance company is telling me they wont pay a cent unless I have a title for my vehicle. I've never had a title for this truck. I spoke the the DMV here and they said they need the details transfe...

Did anyone else hear about the fatality sunday afternoon? Apparently a novice in the superbike class crashed all by himself after ricochet and somehow his helmet came off. He died in hospital soon after. I'm told he travelled from Arkansas alone.
Terrible tragedy.

Hail Hell
My insurance company dropped a bit of a bombshell on me today. What I thought was minor hail damage has turned out to be not so minor, and my truck has been totalled. I bought it new in 2000 so this is a little traumatic!! I heard there is an auction site in the DFW area where you can buy ex-governm...

It was cheaper to buy this:
Than to buy a bunch of sprockets and spacers from inside it that I need for a customers bike!

I'll be interested to hear how it goes. Do you use RTV on both sides of the gaskets?
