We're near the entrance behind this trailer. I'm in the small tent, next to the huge tent. Sent you a PM with my cell, Shane!

Wolf Pen Gap in July
I'm thinking about heading out to Wolf Pen Gap outside of Mena, AR sometime after July 4th with another dual sport newbie out of Denton. He rides a GSA1150.
Probably a 2-3 day camping trip out there.
Anyone else interested with availability around that time?

I'm appreciating the Street Triple more so now that I've ridden the KLR around some. It feels much sportier, lighter, and faster than I remember! On the other hand, I love taking the KLR offroad through what used to be "forbidden territory"! I understand why people have multiple bikes now....

I'm in for Monday 25th. We picked this date for the Christ Rockets track day, so a lot of people we've been talking to signed up as first timers. I'll see you all there, we'll be camping out the night before!

Hey guys, I'm Ryan and I'm very new to riding motorcycles ever since I gotten my first motorcycle and I started to learn a lot more on how to ride. Finally I found a group of riders to handout and ride with that is near my area. I just know I'm going to find out a whole tips on everything everyone ...

Sam those are awesome pics! In one with you guys, and the bikes all geared up helmets and all with the dessert background looked like an alien shot from a sci-fi movie! Yeah, the entire time I felt like I was on a different planet! I couldn't have asked for better company in Jeff, Rick and Courtney!

Re: Kinda what I'm thinking about - DP trip
Definitely trip of a lifetime for me. So glad I was able to go! This was longest I've ever spent camping outdoors. We slept 5 nights under the stars, and it got down to 30s at night. Learned a lot about riding in dirt, sand, uphill and downhill. I got my dismount and roll off the bike down pat! Lost...

Yeah, they don't have 110v power at the tent sites, only USB charging.

Re: Kinda what I'm thinking about - DP trip
I may take you up on that tent heater. My sleeping bag should be good for 50 degrees at night, but it'll be nice just in case. I also have first aid kit, fold out basic mesh chair, small butane gas stove... should I bring those just in case, or do you all have that covered?

My pactalk is updated. What tools are you all bringing?
Right now, I just have front/rear inner tubes, chain decreased/lube, duct tape, and a small pouch of tools that came with the KLR. Anything I need to grab?

Also, I can't remember, do you have a communicator of some sort? If so what is it?
My reservation says it's through Thursday night, departing Friday. I picked up a used Scala packtalk.

Re: Kinda what I'm thinking about - DP trip
So I took the KLR out to Rocky Ridge Ranch this morning to get used to it a bit. The first guy I followed was a seasoned rider and took me through "easy" stuff by his measure. Apparently, he didn't hear me telling him that I've never ridden dirt bikes before, much less a KLR, so the route ...

Ok, per https://www.txdmv.gov/motorists/buying- ... e/trailers for homemade trailers - Used trailer less than or equal to 4,000 lbs. gross weight: Bill of Sale + Registration Receipt. The way I'm reading it, if it's under 4,000 lbs, it doesn't need a title? Just registration, right?
