Re: TWS September 3rd
Track days at TWS get started earlier than they do at MSRC or ECR. If you really want to make it a day trip, you're going to have to get up REALLY early. As in Diabro-style early.
I'm interested, but not for a day trip. I'd get there the day before, then head back home that evening. I think last time I was back home by 9pm.

Re: TWS September 3rd
I am warm to the arrive the night before and leave the same day after the event idea.
I copied this from the Ride Smart web site TWS schedule. It appears to be the same as MSRC schedule. Google maps say 197 miles from Hurst to TWS. 3 hours and 30 minutes travel time. Leave DFW area by 4:00 A.M. to be at TWS by 7:30. I have recenctly done the trip in 3 hours. So it would be an early A.M. start.

Important Notes
1.Lunch time will vary, however it will take place between 11:30AM - 12:30PM, depending on event dynamics. This will help to maximize your riding time. Note: At TWS, due to a non compete arrangement, lunch will not be served by RideSmart. It can however be purchased at the local concession stand.
2.Parade lap riders should be present at the track at 10:30am. Due to unpredictable nature of track logistics, parade laps can occur any time between 11:00am and 12:30pm. To ensure you get the chance to ride the track, please be on time and wear the appropriate gear (separate parade lap page explains all gear requirements). Great chance to get to see what track riding is all about.
3.Every participant should bring registration confirmation (email printout), which includes their order # and other registration information. We may request to see it to clarify information, and it will also help to make the check in process smoother for everyone. Failure to verify registration may result in being denied access to the track.
4.Each participant is encouraged to print out their rider check in forms. You can access these forms by clicking the 'Downloads' link on the right side of the page (after logging into your RideSmart account. Form 1 must be filled out by all level participants, while Form 2 must be filled out only by L1-Novice and L2-Intermediate level riders. Printing and filling out these forms will make your check in process much quicker, giving you extra time for other preparation work, or rest.

Re: TWS September 3rd
I wonder why TWS runs an extra hour. Track appears to be hot from 8am to 5pm instead of 9am to 5pm.

Re: TWS September 3rd
No, it is definitely not the same as it is at MSRC or ECR. At both Cresson and Eagles Canyon, RS events typically have the track hot at 9am, whereas they start off at 8am at TWS. The first session in your level can be especially important if you're not that familiar with the track. Also, keep in mind that many of us trailer our bikes out of town, which tends to increase the travel time a bit.Fish R1 wrote:I am warm to the arrive the night before and leave the same day after the event idea.

I'd drive straight home after the track day, but I'd drive down the night before and camp or get a hotel room.

Hotel for me, I want a good nights rest before hitting triple digits.Rhino wrote:++fixxervi6 wrote:When I go to TWS it'll be an overnighter

Part of the reason I ponied up for a trailer, for track's further away than ECR and Cresson

Thats what I am looking for. My truck does not have AC. So if you go please let me know if I can put my bike on the trailer.fixxervi6 wrote:Spot for 3 bikes, all I ask for is split gas money.milesmiles wrote:and to trailer your friends bikes
Striple has once again been the voice of good sound judgment and reason. So I am warm to the idea of the night before arrival and leaving the day of. It doesnt matter to me thou. I can get up early same day or leave night before. I have a budget to stick to so I will try to cull out a few bucks for a motel.
Re: TWS September 3rd
Chances are really good I won't have a bike for this track day so don't count on me.
If someone going needs a trailer they can talk to me about arrangements of barrowing mine.

Re: TWS September 3rd
If I found a way to make this one then I could put my bike in the bed of my truck ... haul 3 more on the trailer... and have room for 4 people to ride with me in the truck.

I'm tempted, but I don't think I have any valid codes left to use and I don't want to pay real money.
