I thought for sure that after 3 PMs and almost a full page of discussion about when this ride was happening that you'd be there.Polokid69 wrote:How was the ride?

I know. I must hang my head in shame. I should have been there but had a bunch of stuff at home to do which ended up taking less time than I originally estimated. I hear I missed a good one tooRhino wrote:I thought for sure that after 3 PMs and almost a full page of discussion about when this ride was happening that you'd be there.Polokid69 wrote:How was the ride?

I want to know who's bike will do an actual 180. I figured one of those liter bikes like Jim's or DD's would come close.

A 2000 Kawasaki ZX-9R will do 175 so finding a current liter bike that can do it shouldn't be that hard.

As far as I know all modern liter bikes will do in the 180 range.Polokid69 wrote:I thought that was Fixxer that did that ?MattR1 wrote:Polo all you missed was 82 riding like a mad man we're all taking it easy and he hauls ass past us at what must of been 150+

My speedo will not indicate anything past 186 but the tach will keep going up.
Random stuff I say:
Women are like square roots, if they're under 17 you just have to do them in your head.
What would you be if you were attached to another object by an incline plane, wrapped helicly around an axis?

Re: Monthly Moderate Ride - Sunday Aug 11 - NOT AT SONIC
I hear that some of the unmodified Italian bikes are like that. Either the speedo shuts off at 186 or stops registering after that speed but the bike keeps going faster.

Re: Monthly Moderate Ride - Sunday Aug 11 - NOT AT SONIC
My understanding is they are still limited to 186 actual, the tach keeps climbing because 186 indicated is not 186 actual

Re: Monthly Moderate Ride - Sunday Aug 11 - NOT AT SONIC
I saw 188 on my speedo before it felt like I hit a wall, may have just been wind resistance. Didn't cut out or anything like a governed car does.

From Wiki
Breakaways from the agreement[edit source | edit]MV Agusta advertised their 2007 F4 R 312 as capable of 312 km/h (194 mph), hence the "312" in the name, "because MV sees no reason to abide by the manufacturers' agreement ... Politics be damned: MV is Italian and the Italians have a national imperative to make their bikes as fast as possible," in the opinion of motoring journalist Roland Brown.[10][11] Italian magazine Motociclismo achieved 193.24 mph (310.99 km/h) testing the F4 R 312, more or less confirming the claimed speed and tying, if not exceeding, the 1999 Suzuki Hayabusa's tested speeds of 188–194 mph (303–312 km/h).[12]
The 2013 Ducati 1199 Panigale R was delivered with an electronic speedometer that blanked when the motorcycle exceeded 186 mph, leading commentators to question if Ducati was signaling their withdrawal from the regime.[13][14] Wes Siler of RideApart claimes to have broken 202 mph on a test ride of the bike, if verified this would make the 2013 Panigale R the fastest motorcycle in the world

Re: Monthly Moderate Ride - Sunday Aug 11 - NOT AT SONIC
I need a 2007 F4R 312 and a 2013 Panigale R. My Suzuki will only indicate 162 (closed course) but the sprockets are -1/+2 so I would assume that it would be good for 170 or so with stock stuff.

FYI, SuperSport 599cc race replicas are regulated to a top speed of 165 MPH (according to AMA racing rules)

Re: Monthly Moderate Ride - Sunday Aug 11 - NOT AT SONIC
They don't limit them for the showroom do they? And why in the hell would they limit them on the track? It seems like if you can go 166 on the track with 599cc then by god go 166!
EDIT: Also, with tire wear, differences in electronics etc how is that enforceable? If you get GPSd at 165.1 do you get DQd? It just seems ridiculous overall.

Your bike is a 599cc but it is not a race replica --aka RR version.

Re: Monthly Moderate Ride - Sunday Aug 11 - NOT AT SONIC
Super Sports is strictly based on production bike and gearing (the # of front and rear sprocket teeth, engine rpm rev limiters, and wheel sizes) only allow for a Max speed of 165 MPH. Where the big differences come in is in things like acceleration in the different gears and how effectively you use them.Stardog84 wrote:They don't limit them for the showroom do they?
