No motorcycles in this post, but there are some awesome roads...
This past weekend Vic and I headed out to a friend's wedding in Fresno. Since it was a morning event and we'd be done by noon on Saturday, we decided to head another hour east afterwards, to Kings Canyon National Park. Total distance from our house to the park is a touch over 200 miles...
View of the road (CA-180) descending from Grant Grove Village into the canyon. It made me wish for a motorcycle... (click for big) General Grant Tree, the 3rd largest living being on the planet
A panorama of our walk up the canyon
Break time
Hiking up...
Awesome views down the canyon
Hanging out next to Mist Falls on the Kings River
Beautiful views the whole time, and some great roads... definitely need to get back there on two wheels for some more exploring!

BARF Spring Rally, Fortuna, CA
3 days. 1,100 miles. Highways, glassy-smooth sweepers, tight bumpy goat-trails, deserted beaches, mountain peaks, towering redwoods, 50F and foggy, shivering on the bike, 111F and baking, diving into a cold river swimming hole, twisting turning whooping sweeping flying terrifying friends food drinking riding fun.
Fuck me, what a weekend.

Been a while since I've taken any pics along one of the afternoon commute routes home. Here's some scenery from Welch Creek Road for y'all.
