Most recent purchase thread!
Re: Most recent purchase thread!
If I go to an upright rider it will be a GS1200. I am willing to try just about any bike but the super sport is still in my blood, when I can no longer bend my neck back I will switch.

The point is a Tuono is exactly your bike with more upright handlebars and less plastic. Aprilia doesn't tone down their streetfighters.

WTF? That's bordering on blasphemy. That's something you have in your garage when you've got more than one bike. Even Rhino came back from the dark side, and Will still has his Daytona.fixxervi6 wrote:If I go to an upright rider it will be a GS1200.
Seriously, I'm reading where some people say it might be the perfect overall bike, if you're going to have just one. Damn they are pricey though, one you get them outfitted with all of that expensive BMW junk.

Re: Most recent purchase thread!
A R1200GS is not a good off-road bike, and few people off-road them. R1200RT is the better buy, and is at the tippy-top of my "would buy it today if I had the money" list.
Re: Most recent purchase thread!
Dealer told me the tuano motor was toned down, and I think it's beyond fugly. I'm just not into those kind of bikes but I would love to have a GS. Not just because it may come down to the only type of bike I can ride (upright) but just because I also want a GS.Rhino wrote:The point is a Tuono is exactly your bike with more upright handlebars and less plastic. The taller wind screen gives me a lot more clearance for my tax collector detector and allows me to put it more level than before (increases detection sensitivity)

It only took me four years and 60,000 miles on the FZ1 to realize that I should've just bought another VFR. '06, ABS, factory luggage:
Meanwhile, the FZ1N is getting a going-through prior to being put up for sale. Various Penske/Vortex/Corbin/Givi bits are being swapped for stock bits to be sold separately:

Dude... your garage. At first I thought that was a pic of the bike at the place where you were buying it.

Re: Most recent purchase thread!
Is it even worth selling the FZ1? With 60k on the clock, it can't be worth much anymore (hence you selling the goodies separately)?

Re: Most recent purchase thread!
More like 70k on the clock (I bought it used). I figure the goodies should bring close to $1k by themselves, and I think I should be able to get at least $2.5k for the bike. Remember, I only spent $4800 on it in the first place! $2000 of depreciation over 60,000 miles seems perfectly acceptable to me. Besides, I promised Vic...Striple wrote:Is it even worth selling the FZ1? With 60k on the clock, it can't be worth much anymore (hence you selling the goodies separately)?

Re: Most recent purchase thread!
You selling that chain oiler, you had on it, or is that going on the VFR?
And the poor FZ1, I'll never forget loosing the shifter peg just a few blocks from your place.
