That's only while in the turns. You can pass on the straights all day. You can pass in the turns in the afternoon, but only on the outside. Level 2 you can pass in the turns all day, but only on the outside. Level 3 only passing restriction is you must keep a safe distance from person you are passing.

Honestly if it's your first time at the track you shouldn't be focused on passing until later anyway, keep the speeds down and learn the lines before you start ripping on the throttle, easier to keep it shiny side up that way.

It's a track day, not race day.

No way Pooty. You go out there, learn, do your best to your ability and have FUN with it. It doesn't matter if someone thinks you are too slow or too this or too that (unless you are being careless then that's a different story). Don't worry so much (yeah yeah, pot meet kettle ;) ).

I always look at track days as if you're not having fun, what's the point.

No passing isn't really that bad. It will keep you on 2 wheels in the morning when its cold and if you get behind people just pull off in pit lane and wait for them to get to the other side of the track.

Great advice from everyone! I hope I can remember that when I'm on the track with my adrenaline pumping.
