This may be old, and I hope it's not a repost. I found it cleaning up emails and found it somewhat humorous. I thought the cop exhibited extreme patience...up to a point.

If you are driving, you have to identify and present your license. If you're not driving, or if you are not suspected of a crime you don't, nor do you have to answer any questions. That guy was wrong and ignorant of the law.
It's best just to be polite and answer the officers questions. They aren't going to let you off if you act like a SOB.
