FWMR Lan Party???
Helllloooo my tasty riding brethren and sistren!
Okay so much to my (and probably your!) delight we have lots of gamers here.
So I've taken the idea from part of this thread and would like to revisit it. LAN party? Would anyone be interested in this?
I think figuring out which game(s) (FPS, fragtastic yes pl0x) would come after we get a general idea of interest. The planning will be a work in progress of course.
Of course the best time to do this is not in this crappy heat, I don't think anyone wants a $700 electric built and a busted HVAC from keeping a house full of gaming rigs cooled down.
Sooooooo what say you?

I absolutely love LAN parties. Playing games online over Steam over a headset isn't the same as everyone getting together in the same room and playing, talking smack, and having a blast. I used to host LAN parties ALL the time with friends, once we had 20 PCs hooked up in my old house, all spread across folding tables and floor space, tripping breakers, beating the HVAC down. Those were epic times, would love to do something like that again.

Re: FWMR Lan Party???
Nuuuuu fixxer, how else can I literally teabag the effing campers with testicle-shaped teabags (thank you Telo! I'm going to buy them! <3) over Steam? Impossible. Also, I have a plethora of mini plush toys I throw, the experience is nicer in person Plus to give myself an upper edge you know, a huge intake of lactase-laden goods to gas my enemies. Tactics!!!! It's just much more fun in person. ^_^
I'd love to do that too baby; we could make it so once we are settled in the new place!!!!

Re: FWMR Lan Party???
I've somewhat looked into steam on their website. So do i have to buy a console to play their games? How exactly does this work?

Re: FWMR Lan Party???
Steam on PC or Mac. Find a game you want, buy the game license, download the software from Steam. Launch via steam. TA DA! Steam is a free client and they have free games to play ( a lot are crappy- you get what you pay for. Firewa11 just bought me the Evil Within, so they have a wide variety of genres: New/Old/Indie/etc.). There's also a profile for your account, a notification for when your friends are online (and you can harass...erm chat), can invite one another to multiplayer games (as long as everyone has the same game), badges.
Download it and test it out. yes, it's worth it; geek approved

I am sensing that someone may make a joke that will liken your current PC to a Triumph, and a hint that you should get a better PC (like a Suzuki ). I bet someone says it soon!

I was actually thinking maybe Suzuki should switch to building PCs instead of bikes, makes sense to me.

At least I won't have to borrow someone's power cord and 'jump' start my PC, nor will I have to worry about parts rattling off my PC as I'm just getting ready to host an epic game

nah i'm just not a "gaming rig" person. I play the occasional video game and might play more if i had an updated system, but can't justify it.
Yea and my phone works great, but it's too small! You ever try to look at porn on your phone?...that's all i'm sayin

Oh yeah, i also had one of those for the original gameboy, and it even had lights on it to shine on the screen to play in the dark since they didn't have backlit screens.

Lan Party/SFF Gaming PC is why I built this little guy.
Watercooled 4770k@4.7Ghz and Overclocked GTX 970
....my problem is actually having time to play games and do something other than work/work around the house lol

I want to build a new gaming rig. Like Eyedol, work has completely messed up my old gaming habits. Rarely play during the week. But I do love/miss it.

Sweet rig BTW eyedol! Okay this is too much, too many gamers not to get something going at some point. Again we'd love to host, we just have to move first (house is getting closer to completion and then closing! w00t)
