Iron butt event next month

Post by fixxervi6 » Thu Sep 24, 2015 8:40 am

The IBA is doing a big event next month, I have some TXSR folks hitting me up for the butt burner gold or one of those, I haven't committed to anything yet, but is anyone else interested?

Some of the TXSR guys are trying to plan a butt burner gold but I think I may just do my own thing, I already have a good route in mind since I know a lot of roads out west, what kind of range do you get on the C-14 per fill up? - stops kill your time, if I could do this with another long range machine it would make life a lot easier.

Depending on the type of riding, I can usually get at least 220 miles per tank while commuting.

So, in general, leave at 5:45 a.m. Friday, back by 5:00 p.m. Saturday? Take pictures at the designated spots. Is there something I'm missing?

I'd be stretching at 200 miles I'm guessing, depending on pace.

out west I would want to run at least 100 mph, I could easily do a 200 mile leg at that pace

I don't really get the appeal of these types of rides. 1000 miles in 24 hours is not that hard to do depending on the roads you pick. Hell I did 950 miles in 12 hours, and 4 of that was in the rain, along with a 30min or so nap to try and dry out a little.

I might be down for this if I happen to be off the day you choose.
