Texas won't leave the US. If it would happen, Mexico would probably try to take us back. And since we left the US they wouldn't help. They would be like 'fuck you, Texas. You wanted independence. Haha.'

Too many people in this state own guns. It is not like the north where they are afraid of guns.dufremle wrote:Texas won't leave the US. If it would happen, Mexico would probably try to take us back. I don't think Mexico could take Texas. Other issues would come in though. Its just not a great idea all in all.

I agree not a great idea, but interesting to play with though. So would the Texas illegals from Mexico rise up to support Mexico from within?...or skedaddle across the Red River to stay in the 'States?DemonDuck wrote:I don't think Mexico could take Texas. How much of the National Guard Armory Equipment belongs to Texas and how much belongs to the USA? You know all the heavy equipment in Fort Hood would be gone
as well as Dyess AFB etc. USA might let Texas keep the coast guard equipment but I doubt it could stand up to Mexico's navy.
Personally I think that (If the USA stood by with back turned) Mexico could take Texas militarily, but they'd be in for one hell of a guerilla war/insurgency.
I think I might become a war refugee and live in a tent city in Colorado and eat for free.
So what label would the press call the people that left Texas to escape the war? Texugees? TX'gees?

Well the US wouldn't stand back turned anyway. Hell we wouldn't let nations invade each other over seas let alone next door. The national guard would stay with all its equipment but it would be a logistic nightmare. If Texas went far enough down that road where it looked like it might actually happen it would most likely turn into a civil war.
