Re: Need a tow ball installed
Honestly man. I have not used a torque wrench one time to install a ball and I have recently taken several LONG trips pulling trailers with balls I installed without a torque wrench with no issues. You don't have to worry about over torque because you have nothing to warp or damage (its solid metal)..... Just put some arse into it and you will be just fine.

Re: Need a tow ball installed
Given the torque spec 260 ft-lb it is more likely it would be under torqued, unless you put a pipe over the breaker bar. But I think the issue seems to be just getting a tool that is the right size for the nut and can withstand someone jumping on it.DemonDuck wrote:Honestly man. Screw that...he just wants it because it makes his truck look "less city".
If he can't figure out the ball on his own (he knows how to solve it but he likes the drama (you attention whore)), what makes us think he will use the ball to haul anything?

Hehe. I was just hoping someone had the tools so I didn't have to buy any. Looks like I'll be buying a socket and a breaker bar. And some red Loctite, as I only have blue.Telomere wrote:Screw that...he just wants it because it makes his truck look "less city".
