Mel Gibson - Has he ever played a sane character

I was trying to think of a movie where his character wasn't a little crazy and I can't come up with one. Closest I think would be Ransom but even that he went a little crazy at the end of the film.

He gets nuts in Signs when his wife dies, but I think he is pretty normal in that movie

The Singing Detective - never seen it, but how can you be crazy in a movie titled like this?

The Singing Detective??? That has nuts written all over it. lol

Yeah, he was pretty sane in signs, but he did flip out a little in it at times. Ok, so we got 1, maybe 2, out of how many movies? lol
