ya I have one i just have to find the bolts to put the battery back in now

Most of the time if it died while you where riding it is a problem with the R/R or the Stator. If the battery is the problem ... most of the time it just wont start but once it is started the charging system should keep the bike going for you as that is what would run your bike and charge the battery at the same time on a working system. Also check the connections that go from the stator to the R/R and then from the R/R to the battery ect. I have seen the plastic melt from getting to close to hot stuff and then causing a ground or bad connection. Also some bikes have a main kinda fuse that is just before the charging system gets back to the battery that could be blown as well. Several things are cheap fixes and a couple are not so cheap. If it is the stator you may be able to replace the brushes inside or the coil inside and get off cheaper (really not to hard to do). I hope some of this helps.
