Broke a headlight clamp

Post by shilka99 » Thu Mar 24, 2011 1:14 pm

Just finishing up some maintenance to make sure my SV is good to go for Bike night, as it hasnt been on the road in a year. Tightening up the headlight bracket and it snapped clean in two. Whose idea was it to make it in delrin anyway?

Too late to buy a new one, what do i do?
I guess I'll just have to make one!

Only takes a few minutes to measure it up and draw it in Inventor:

then import that into Edgecam;

A minute later its taking shape in the mill;

By the time I finish typing this it will be done and ready to drill and mount on the fork leg.

Now that I've fixed all the problems with the CNC controller I bought I'm starting to get the hang of this CNC stuff. Lots of fun.

Shaun.

very nice to be able to fix things with parts you make (and I dont mean using duct tape and zip ties to fashion parts together, although SF900 has made an art out of it)
