Update on my cracked egg (Jeff/Birdshooter)

Post by Bird Shooter » Tue May 22, 2007 10:39 pm

Hey everyone,

This is Carie, Jeff(birdshooter's) wife. I just wanted to give you guys an update. He told me earlier today that I needed to treat him like an egg. I told him that I usually throw cracked eggs away. :-) (Just wanted to explain the subject line).

Jeff is doing as well as can be expected right now. He is in a lot of pain. His collar bone is broken pretty badly and will require surgery on Friday. The bone is separated by 2 cm and raised 1 cm and at times you can see it poking up. He will have to have a plate and screws put in and will be in the hospital overnight. The doctor said it has to be operated on or there would only be a 34% chance that it would even heal on its own. The ribs are better, we think. We will be visiting our regular physician in the morning to get the punctured lung checked out and make sure it is healing. I guess if he was going to wreck, he had to do it up right. :-D

Here's a picture of the action shot. This corner is called the (B*TCH) and rightfully so. Jeff won't be visiting her anytime soon. After missing the corner, Jeff tries to bury his head in shame. We like to call this "Tuck and Roll, Just don't try this at Home", "Rolling with the Stars (Alpine Stars)" :-), "Jeff's Style of a New Yoga Exercise", "Just Thought I'd Check Out My Bike (from another angle)". Oh, well. Maybe they aren't so funny, but we've gotta find something to smile about.

Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, and phone calls. We really appreciate it. We love you guys! What a great bunch of friends!

Carie

I part of the Picture surrounding the bike looks like a very nice track. I know he was looking for a nice place to have a picnic.

If you need anything let me know. I mean it!!! If you need anything and don’t ask I will be pissed!!

Is your last name McGee or McCoy?

You don’t mess around. You have just about caught up to me in broken bones and Matt in metal all in one crash!! Good work!!

I will stop by tonight around 7pm if that is ok?

We can rebuild him. We have the technology. We can make him better than he was. Better... stronger... faster...

That isn't a crash... Jeff and his bike are just "resting".

Get well, bro!!!!

Carrie, Jeff - I'm not sure if I've met ya'll yet or not. I've been on a couple of rides...
OUCH in a big way, but thankfully your still functional and will recover.
Did they give you a wheel chair? If not I think I know where I can get one, and you can use that Thursday night at Fox-N-Hound. We can all chip in and get you medicated for your surgery in the morning. Save big money on the Anesthesiologist.
Get well - get back on.

Jeff/Carie,
Man, you guys are having ALL THE FUN! Just got back from Orlando and I'll be moving in the morning. Otherwise, I'd be over there to slap him on the back. Sorry about the crack up, but as usual, if Jeff is going to do it, he's going to do it up right!

I'll bring over the stuff that I Jeff was wanting now that there's a little room in the garage. :-) Call me if there's anything I can do. I'll be off for the next couple of days getting moved in, but I'll make the time if there's anything you need.

Get well soon ... I know it's going to be a painful, slow recovery. I doubt that Jeff would ask for it, but we should get together and plan on mowing his yard for a few weeks/months. Can't take more than 1/2 hour if we get a few mowers over there. Jeff/Carie, post up if it's time .... I'll haul mine over there on Saturday if it needs it. Don't have time to ride right now, but I'll FIND time to help a Bud when he's down!

Hey Jeff/Carie, I live about a mile from you guys, so anything at anytime that you guys need just let me know. I can help with the lawn sometimes too, sundays I'm pretty open so just let me know and I'll be there. After all Jeff you are a lucky guy, I have a cousin that works at ER and bikers are mostly the worse cases, so you got away fairly good. Well guys hang in there, and hope too see you soon, and remember you get to live another day, so we get to celebrate another B-DAY for you.

I'd be happy to help out to once I get back to town. Till then though, make sure you take advantage of the other guys in the club. That's what we're here for, that and the beer.
