FS Custom Ninja 250

Post by fixxervi6 » Sat Mar 21, 2015 3:15 pm

There is a long list of customization's, I'll try to cover some of them in this post.

THE GOOD

Below you will see an increase in aerodynamics and weight reduction, with the tail all empty there is significant weight savings and the air will flow right out the back. All weight reduction was carefully calculated on a super computer for maximum effectiveness*
20150321_152944.jpg
Below is a picture of the custom tach mount - this is a functioning tachometer and I'll bet you money you will not be able to find this style at any dealer, completely custom.
20150321_152918.jpg
The rear sets have been upgraded to the newer style.
20150321_152904.jpg
The airbox has been removed to reduce weight and increase airflow, K&N Pods now filter the air, and a custom battery harness has been built for the battery.
20150321_153004.jpg
To ensure uniqueness, and increase aerodynamics the tank has been reshaped slightly on one side. This will make the bike faster in right hand turns*
20150321_152932.jpg
Aftermarket clip-on's ensure a very cool look and feel as well as providing a turning radius of a school bus.
20150321_152914.jpg
A ZX6 shock has been custom painted and fitted to the rear of this bike - it was a rather expensive and time consuming project (seriously) but now it's sporting supersport suspension and not the stock 250 pogo stick.
20150321_152901.jpg
Lowering links were added to make the bike even further customizable and to account for the increased height of the ZX6 shock over the stock shock. I was going to put a Gixxer shock in it but I figured that would just be wrong. This is also a great chance to show off the custom weight reduced ultra-loud exhaust that is guaranteed to piss off your neighbors and set off car alarms.
20150321_152958.jpg
Hand painted grill guard, this is panted by the highest quality rattle can paint money can buy at wal-mart.
20150321_152928.jpg
Custom paint job, you won't find this on any stock bike. Flat black and bright green, very intimidating, the combination of the colors with the custom exhaust will make people get out of your way out of sheer terror*
20150321_152910.jpg
This bike has ONLY 2,000 miles on it, seriously

Clean title in my name

Bike starts and runs, clutch is good, brakes work, all 6 gears function.

Bike has ONLY been crashed 3 times

statements followed by * are complete bull shit and have no scientific evidence supporting the claim.

THE BAD

Bike has been sitting a while, I took it up and down the street, set off a car alarm and it was lurching and surging real bad, I'm sure it could use a complete carb clean up / tune up and it's got a tank full of old gas so I'm sure that doesn't help.

The bike will never be street legal, some of the bad ass modifications you see in the pictures above required permanent modifications

THE DEAL

Now I hope your sitting down because this baby can be yours for the low low price of....... $500.00!! I'll even throw in the old tank of gas for free, that's at least a $5.50 value right there.

Shit. I love it.

Wasn't Jim looking for a cheap 250 to save on his insurance?

I thought about it. Not sure if it would work, though.

If you still have this beautiful custom beast when I get my tax return I may snag her. I take
it this work of art has been re jetted? And the tank is rust free? Oil changed and valves adjusted on time?

When we first converted it into the beast above I shimmed the needles and ran it around the neighborhood, it ran great until you got up in the RPM's, I took the shim's out and it smoothed it out so I assume there needs to be some adjustment, no doubt that as it is, it will run lean.

It's been sitting for a while now, I'd say at least a couple of years, went out to fire it up and it wouldn't fire up. Pulled the cabs, pulled the needles / diaphragms and shot some carb cleaner down into the jets, put it back together then it ran, albeit rough. To do it proper the gas tank will need to be drained and the carbs completely torn down and cleaned.

Not sure if the tank is rust free I'll have to pop it open and look, it's a 2001 that was rusted all to hell when I first got it, I cleaned it all up and it ran like a top until the teenager did what teenagers do and modified the bike.

I bought it with just under 1,000 miles on it, it was pretty much spotless other than it sitting way too long, pulled it all apart, cleaned it up (I had to buy a new petcock for it, the old one was just shot) and it ran strong - a lot better than the newer ninja's imo. It made it about another 1,000 miles before she ran wide in a turn got thrown off and the bike tumbled. It did so much body damage I didn't see the point in putting it back together for the street, I would had to have put more money into it than what it cost to buy it.

At the time of it's creation it had fresh oil, fresh coolant, (had to replace the radiator),newish battery, fresh oil filter, fresh brake fluid (needs bleed again), no valve adjustments due to the miles on the engine. The odometer is gone (it's parts went different directions) so you'd have to take my word for it but the original mileage is on the title.

We started to part it out at first since some parts were salvageable but bleh, not worth the time so screw it we'd turn it into a track bike - well as it stands I currently have another 250 sitting gathering dust much better suited for the track, this one only takes 16" tires, and the oldest kid is taking the super sport out to the track next so I want more space in my garage.

This thing is loud - stupid loud - my ears were ringing just from making one pass down the street today. I think this thing would be a blast with some knobbies on it but I seriously don't want to mess with it, I really hate working on these things.

Tempting, Tempting. But I need new leathers before I could track the beast. Thus the money will have to wait to go toward leathers.

Miles, wouldn't this have been faster and cheaper for your dirt bike project? :D
