Get some atrazine from a farmer and spread it around the yard. Nothing will grow...ever, and if it rains shortly after putting it down, nothing will grow in the neighbors yards either. :-)

Goat borrowing may be frowned upon in certain areas. I'm not too sure of the social dynamics on that one; goat sharing might be highly taboo.
