You may think that is expensive, but by the time you lay out for all of the upgrades on say a GSXR, it's a super buy - if that's the kind of stuff your after obviously, value is in the eye of the beholder.

I love the sex appeal of an RSV4, but it just doesn't fit any of my current needs badly enough to put out that kind of cash for it. Still, a fantastic bike, and a good deal for someone who is in the market for something within that niche.

Would love that machine, but I think my insurance would cost me more than the bike per year...

Agreed, but I didn't know you were supposed to buy the model you "need". I thought this was purely whichever one you lusted after. That's how I've made all my bike purchases, except the first one maybe.

Its not so much the amount of riding experience, but the quality of that experience.

Riding experience is a tiny factor for insurance companies. Bike type, age, and y-chromosome are much more important to them.

I don't recall a question from my insurance company about how long I've been riding.

I just switched and when I was getting quotes they asked me when I got my license. That was all they wanted to know.

That is a bitchin new bike for that kind of money for sure. I worry about what I am going to ride when Buells are no longer an option. I don't like the full race bike ergos and everyone, including Aprilia, neuters the motors on their more comfortable platforms. It's bullshit.

Street Triple; Speed Triple; FZ1; Z1000 ... all more comfortable and non-neutered.
