Post by DemonDuck » Fri Sep 18, 2015 9:15 am

Yep Shoei now has a transition shield. Now I am going to have to purchase a new helmet.

Yikes! That is quite the price tag for what it does.

Yes and no. The standard, chrome tint version of that shield is almost $90, so an extra $60 for the transition ability doesn't sound too bad.

You can easily find most smoked shields for most brands (including Shoei) for $25-40 online, so anything approaching $100 or beyond seems comparatively steep in my book.

I have red some less than stellar reviews of these. Some say it has problems transitioning back and forth

Have any of yall looked at the E-Tint products? Electronic switched via a button for nearly every helmet for $150.

Seems like a better solution for similar money.

I've got 3 or 4 shields for my Shoei's. (clear and tint). It's not a big deal changing them out but having to carry the extra around with me to acclimate for daylight (or lack thereof) is what I'd like to avoid and is the biggest reason I want one. Hmmmm... St. Nick letter writing commencing...

They have been out for the Bell helmets for a few years now.
