Late Notice Ride Tomorrow - Sat. Dec. 31

Post by dufremle » Fri Dec 30, 2011 4:20 pm

Since several have asked for a ride and I was able to get the oil changed in my bike today, I will lead a ride tomorrow. We will leave from Sonic on Clifford around 9:00 AM. Get there early if you want food or coffee. I will probably not have a route planned so we can go wherever, maybe with a stop for lunch at some point.

Post up if you can make it.

Sounds fun. Got to pick up some calves in the morning for a friend. If I'm back in time I'll go. Where is the ride going to be?

It was a bit cold in the morning, but turned out to be a good ride. Looks like i will have to take defensive driving or the MSF course soon. :( Anyone else want to take it?

I also found out the cops can pull over multiple people at once.

Yikes he was behind me when he lit it up, it freaked me out because i didn't know he was there. I pulled off to the left and he shot past me and pulled y'all over. I didn't really know what to do other than keep going. What did he catch y'all at?

80 in a 60. You are lucky he wasn't in a bad mood. He asked who you were but said he wasnt going to chase you. He didn't push for your name.

We were heading north on 820 and he appeared out of nowhere. He said he was coming down the on ramp from 30 and saw us passing traffic. So he hit the radar gun and got us at 80. I never saw him.

Sounds like you brought in the end of the year just right because you don't want to start the new year with getting pulled over :D Other than that, I hope you guys had a great ride.

I pulled over on the left shoulder thinking he was getting me...he then passed me to get y'all. If he had wanted me then he should have just stayed behind me. and let's be honest 80 in a 60 :)

Holiday weekend man, they were out in full force today, I saw too many to count.

Can't you just do deferment? Save the defensive as a backup or if you get pulled over out of state.

Out of state? I was pulled over in Michigan while living in Indiana. They took my license as bond. I called Indiana, and they told me if I
paid the fine, it would not reflect on my record, but if I didn't, Michigan would transfer the ticket to Indiana to suspend my license. I paid it, and
that was that. Of course, that was probably close to 20 years ago.

Does Texas (or other states) have agreements to put points on licenses between each other?
Why have 6 gears on a motorcycle when I can exceed the posted speed limit in first?

I dunno, but I made a mistake of playing my ace in the hole and got screwed.

Got pulled over in east texas, my dumb ass decided to do defensive driving, 2 weeks later got pulled over in NRH, and played the deferment card, 2 weeks later got pulled over in NRH again, went to the judge to see what I could do, and becuase I already took defensive driving I was toast.

Do deferment and then just DON'T SPEED in that city for 3 months, save the defensive driving card for another play.

If I would have done deferment on my first pull over, deferment on the second, the judge would have let me do defensive driving on the 3rd (same city so can't defer twice), but you can only take defensive driving like every 6 months or something like that so now I have a mark on my record.

15mph over on every one

I'm going to avoid holiday rideing, the last time I did that I almost got nailed twice in the same day, last one I thought my ass was going to end up in jail I got lucky, and today, they were out all over the place, speeding on a day like today is asking for it.

I was thinking of doing the msf course because i haven't done it in a while and i get a discount on insurance. I could do deferred adjudication.

Sucky. I did the TWT pie run this morning. For all you guys bitching about the cold at 9am, I was in Venus at 7am, then headed south into some NASTY fog. I wasn't expecting the damp, I was just in jeans and a leather jacket. :(
