Bridgestone or Avon

i found out today that the size my old girl needs is no longer an option in Any Metzler tire so I was given a choice of avon or bridgestone battleAxe.

I have heard mixed things about the Battleaxe and nothing about the avon.....anybody have or tried the Avons??

And no bird I am not going to buy a newer bike!!

One of the guys I used to ride with swears by the Avons even though I've given him lots of input on the Metzlers and Michelins. From what I've been told, they stick OK and last a while.
