Moderate Ride March 31st

Post by DarcShadow » Mon Mar 26, 2007 12:04 pm

I'll be leading a Moderate, but rather long, ride Saturday. The route will be about 300 miles and will put us around Waco for lunch.

I planned this route using my mapping program so I have not actually be on all of the roads. I did check them using the sat images from google and I'm 98% sure there are no dirt roads.

We will leave Sonic at 8:00 am and should be back in town around 5:00 or 6:00.

We'll be near or cross over several major roads so if you need to peal off early you shouldn't have any problems finding your way back home.

If a second ride leader wants to step up and lead an intermediate ride in junction with the moderate ride I'll plot out a route that should put both groups in Waco at about the same time.

Make sure you document the start and stop for the ride if you really want the Iron Butt award thing.

Since this will be my last opportunity to ride with the FWMR group :( I am in. Somebody please step up for at least a slow intermediate or else I will have to just hang in the back of the Mod group and ride wheelies :wheelie:

Sucks! I have to work that entire weekend out of town. Why not plan a ride for a time when I'm not stuck babysitting a hospital?

I may be out. Our new system is going live in the UK and I may need to sit by the phone and wait for them to screw something up.

I would might tag along if a intermediate pace one develops.
I have ridden many of the roads down to Waco and there are some pretty good ones. Some had some construction going on them the last time I headed down that way about three months ago. So would need to watch for those. I was down as far as Hillsborough and Witney just three weeks ago and that was fun. 8-)
Follow the winding road, it will set you free.

Sorry, Jason, I haven't had a chance to talk to you lately. Are you heading over to the SandBox?

I would love to lead an intermediate, but I think I will sit this one out. I need a new chain, sprockets, and a new rear tire before I get sh*tty with it. If I can get some of that stuff done before Sat., I'll be in. The forecast for me to gettin' r' dun is not looking good. :-o

Unless it's raining come 8:00 yeah, I'll still lead a ride. Route might have to be altered a little depending on weather and road conditions but if no rain, we ride. :wheelie:
