I shave every other day and not at all on the weekends. One day I might hit puberty and have to shave more often... :) That means I can usually get at least a couple of weeks out of a blade. Sometimes more. I hate electric shavers. How often are you guys changing your blades?

I don't shave much myself. And generally only do my neck. I can go a long long time without changing blades. Like a month. Have y'all ever heard of taking your blades and "stropping" them on a pair of pants?

I had an electric that I loved, handed down to me by my grandfather.

After it finally gave up the ghost I tried two more electrics and they just ate my face, switched back to blades. If I could find a good electric like what I had before, I'd switch back to electric.

I've heard of stropping them on a leather strap with some jeweler's rouge. Not sure a pair of pants is stiff enough to straighten out the blade.

I tried electrics as well and they did not agree with my skin. Plus, shaving with electric is supposed to take less time, but it always took me a lot longer. Plus, electrics aren't very forgiving if you go a few days between shaves, not a big fan of the tug & rip.

If I can get a chance ill post a link on it. You can basically strop on anything. Don't have a leather strop? Use paper. Doesn't work as well, but it will.

Now you're just making stuff up. I want to see you strop on:
a feather
a tree branch
the side of your bike
dirt
water
your own arm

I strop here & there, I strop everywhere.

I strop for shits & giggles, I strop while I write this riddle

I strop while I brush my teeth, I strop while I clean my feet

I strop while I walk the dog, I strop in the early morning fog

I strop when I'm alone, I strop when no ones home

I strop when I'm in the car I strop so I can drive far

So when your stropping you can think of me, I've been stropping since 1983

Did anyone ever sign up for this? My electric is getting old and replacement blades are getting hard to find. I was thinking of going back to blades.

I read that the DSC uses Dorco blades, which you can actually buy cheaper directly from Dorco. I wanted to know if the quality was any good.

My coworker signed up and has been happy. He shaves every day and yet he getting a build up of razors. With that said he can buy mach3's and use them longer while totaling about the same deal. So either way it's about the same

I have some fairly sensitive skin plus my facial hair is thick and grows fast. In the last couple years I have shaved no more than once a week and even grew out my beard for a while due to the price of razors and hating to shave. I was using mach3 and used a New razor every shave. Electrics were always too rough and I considered going straight blade a while back but that seemed to be a lot of work having to strop every shave.

I went to get my hair cut a couple weeks ago and the guy asked if I wanted a shave too. I reluctantly said yes. He used a 5 star Wahl foil shaver on me and it worked like a dream. I've checked them out on Amazon and they are $50. I'm planning on getting one soon.

Shit if I tried to skip shaving that often, I'd probably get canned for "unprofessional appearance".

I have to shave daily when I'm out seeing my dealers, but I skip on the weekends and on home office days. And when we do our annual "no shave november" fund raiser.

My friend uses DSC - he likes it also. Blades don't last quite long enough for him, and give him a little more irritation than he'd like, but he swears it saves him a ton a money. I just by the big pack at costco, and that comes out to about $10/month. I can deal with that.

If the risk of chemical burn was non existent, I'd resort to soaking in a vat of depilatory cream. It seems guy's razors are better... but they don't last long. Those stupid "moisture strips" erode so quickly so the razor skips and drags, no matter how much lather junk is used. I wish I could find whatever the stuff is they use on those strips and keep it "refilled" if you will.
