I really want to do a track day too, but I'm scared to death that I'll crash the bike and not be able to afford a new one :(

82, go out focusing on lines, not speed and you'll be fine.

Are you telling us you want as many people to sign up on the same day as you so you have a lot of peeps out there with you, whether they are in L1 or L2 or L3?

82 I was afraid of the same thing on my first track day on the new bike. Shaun helped me a whole lot by telling me to stay in third and not use the brakes. That way you aren't focused on speed but line building and corner speed. It worked better than expected. When I went Sunday I worked on the same thing and my corner speed increased even more. By the end of the day I was using more throttle while still in third and started using the brakes just a little.

You're more likely to crash and destroy the bike on the street. IF you crash on your first track day, and that's a big if, the bike will very likely be ridable with only some minor skuffs. Any accident I've had on the street resulted in an unridable bike. Any accident I've had at the track resulted in some bruises and I continued riding.

I crashed on the track, I dare you to find the bike damage minus the sliders, which are sacrificial parts anyway.

Excellent! I haven't decided yet if I'm going to ride both days or maybe sign up to corner work one of the days and ride the next.

I can't use sliders on my bike. Don't really have any unimportant sacrificial parts :(

I added the sacrificial parts and I do push here and there. Your main thing is your chain and tires, you won't pass tech.

Chain is already fixed. I'd be getting new tires before doing a track day. I also need to do a brake job. They're starting to squeal.

No place to attach them. Evidently this model kawa was terrible, so they discontinued it.

Frame sliders can be a double edge sword. They will protect you in some cases and cause more damage in others. It's a gamble. I only have them because they were on the bike when I bought it and have been to lazy to take them off.

They completely saved my bike, however if I had gone down off the edge of the track instead, it probably would have flipped my bike.

It's also saved me from 3 drops.

I'll take my chances and run sliders.
