They have had target drones, they started out towing targets behind other planes, then they moved to essential radio control. I don't know when the military started using fully autonomous drones to shoot down, but that's an expensive proposition. If it costs 10 million bucks to shoot something down, that's pretty damned pricey.

I'll bet this thing is closer to $100m than $10. And I heard him say something like "actual shots or fire", which I'm guessing can't be entirely accurate. It looks like it's just a modern day version of the Top Gun school depicted in the movie. Wouldn't be much need to actually shoot one down, just to see if you can catch and lock in. It still doesn't appear to address the issue of real-world "I've got a mig up my ass with and he's got tone"...now there's some real-world stress.

I'm disappointed some of this high-tech jet fighter stuff isn't making it to autos yet. I had a few cars with HUD, which all cars should have...to me it's a big safety feature. What I'm lacking however is a gatling gun or sidewinder for those slow-asses in the left hand lane. Maybe some countermeasure / flak also.

I disagree with the HUD statement on cars. I've driving a few and found it annoying and somewhat distracting.

Just need to get used to it. Of course I haven't driven them all, just Pontiac and BMW
