Frame welder/builder?
Just checking to see if you folks have any local recommendations for knowledgeable frame welders/repair providers. Lots of welding available but I'm not so sure where to find someone that actually knows what they are doing and not make the situation worse by bad welding and turning good steel into s...

Re: 2017 Progressive International Motorcycle Show
There were a few Hondas there from a Dealer in Dallas but no official Honda display nor KTM. Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha all had nice displays. Yamaha has a FJR Police bike now, maybe not something new but it was new to me. Twisted Throttle was there but somewhat scaled back from previous years. I ...

Re: Tankless water heaters
I may not drain it this weekend. If it starts leaking I'll be screwed as it's a holiday weekend. Maybe I'll do it Monday. Good thinking. Best to do it when the stores will be open at least 4 more hours. Sometimes shutoff valves that have never been used start leaking out the top as soon as they are...

Re: Tankless water heaters
I'm more concerned that the tank itself is about to rust through and leak. I don't have any problems with not having hot water. Well that can happen especially if it's never been drained to get sediment out and if the anode is all used up. Mine is 20 years old and the dip tube was split in 3 places...

Re: Tankless water heaters
Slightly off topic, (I have zero experience with tankless) but if you replace both the anode and the dip tube on your current tank, many gas water heaters can be extended in life for another 10 years. The old dip tubes tend to split open near the top and the incoming cold water short circuits over t...

Re: Cannonball Run
Driving that far in a $2000 car would be an adventure in it's own.... Well if that's true, I guess I've had a lifetime of adventure.....some of the cars I've driven were worth less than the tires on them at the time. :-) So Matt, if you get bored and want to trade that boring Viper for a month or s...

It also looks like a quick way to loose $2000.00...plus what ever a bus ride ($89.00?) home would cost.

Because on day 3 of this ride , I got into an accident in the desert. Turns out, I rode nearly 6,000 miles after that with a bent front axle. :-) WOW!!! I'm glad I asked! Great report! You must keep a journal or voice record your thoughts during the trip, right? Very nice touch at the epilogue. :gr...

Re: Coffee anyone?
I get Eight O'clock Coffee Columbian whole beans and a disk burr grinder. I'm too lazy to grind the beans fresh everyday so I go in the garage ('cause it's f-ing noisy) and grind a pound at a time. I've never tried cold brew, does it warm up well? If you don't have stomach problems or advanced tooth...

Re: How not to load a trailer
load more weight in the front of that trailer and you should be able to fix it. I did, but there are limits. If you zoom in, you'll notice the stacked weights on the trailer tongue and there is an unseen 45lb landscaping rock in the front inside of the trailer. I was already above the GVW of the ca...

I actually enjoyed the portion with the shoot open more than the free fall. ha! Me too. Except my free fall didn't last very long. I made three jumps back in the days (1971) when you went out the door by yourself on a static line using sport modified T-10 chute. First jump with training was $35.00 ...

I went through Hanksville UT 2 more times :IconConfused: ....but then I also got to ride the Devil's Highway north to south, eat lunch and then ride it again south to north. ...

Re: Ethanol Free gasoline
I dont know about anyone else, but I'm sick of having to worry about ethanol gumming up the carbs on my dirtbikes and race bikes that often sit for months at a time. Until you find a source for Eth-free gas, can't you just run the carbs almost dry by turning off the petcock and letting it run 'til ...

Haven't touched the trans. :spank: Is it going to blow up? Probably not, but there is a known 3rd gear issue that so far seems very random and unpredictable. I was thinking of going with the big bore kit then I started worrying about 3rd gear problem. As I understand it you can't just baby third ge...
