MoS, what radar detector do you have?

I think it's MoS anyway who has the radar detector stealthed into his bike. I'm curious what exactly it is. I'm kicking around the idea of a similarly stealthy install for the Connie.

Re: I have never seen some of these stunts.

Looks like it's a 220cc bike produced in India.

That's some pretty impressive stunting on a bike that is basically a Ninja 250.

Vic doesn't really count as a passenger, she weighs about as much as my boots. :D

Re: Moderate Ride, Sunday, April 25th

I'd love a ride like that. I'd be curious to find out what gaps I've got in my knowledge, or what other little tricks I can pick up. I'm all about learning as many motorcycling skills as possible so I can be an old biker one day.

Re: Sometimes the world conspires for fun

Heh, fiddy, you'll be able to haul ass on a 250. You probably weigh about 1/3 what I do, and it carried me at highway speeds no problem.

I wish they'd update the 500 though. You can get a little more hooligan on one of those without risking looping it. It's just so ugly!

Do you have an alarm or lights or something that is draining your battery? Or a short somewhere?

Re: Moderate Ride, Sunday, April 25th

I've found that I need to truly hang off very rarely when it comes to street riding, but the opportunity does still arise once in a while. Normally I'll be approaching mid-corner by the time I realize that I should be getting off more (whoops). It is far easier to adjust your upper body positioning...

Re: Fort Worth, MSF Course locations.

I did mine in February at Pennington Field in Bedford. Think that's the one I'm going to be doing on the 15th. How was it? I loved it. I took it in February, so there were only 3 people signed up. One guy didn't show at all, I think because it was about 35 degrees in the early morning, so it was a ...

Re: Moderate Ride, Sunday, April 25th

Yeah, I've known about the concept behind hanging off (i.e. lower your center of gravity without leaning the bike as far), but coming from a cruiser there was no way to shift my butt around. I'd have to do it just with upper body lean. I realized I'd been doing that on the Concours also, basically j...

Re: Moderate Ride, Sunday, April 25th

it was a good ride minus the swarm of cops, Dave and I had some fun in the twisties on the way back. We split of from the group at 407 and took that to 35. By the way, I learned a handy new riding trick following you. I noticed that you do a scoot-on-the-seat weight shift when you corner that isn't...

Re: Sometimes the world conspires for fun

Is your friend afraid of it ? Why doesn't he ride it home? It's his first bike, he just took the BRC a week or two ago, and he bought it in Gainesville (he lives in Arlington). The ride home actually challenged some of my street riding skills--apparently the whole world took a dumbass pill before g...

*yawn* Note to self, when planning on an early morning ride, go to bed earlier and get some sleep.

Still, nothing a shower and some coffee at the Waffle Casa won't fix. See you all in a bit.

Re: Your bike and why......

I looked at the 08 Concours 14, even test rode one before I went with the Ninja. In some ways I regret not going for it. The Ninja is the most uncomfortable bike I've ever ridden on for distance... but it's the absolute best bike I've ridden for out riding fast in the twisties. I won't ever take he...

Ooh, good game.

I'll have to check my title, I bought my Connie in January of this year. The starting mileage was under 10k, don't remember the exact number. Right now it's around 13.5k, need to up it a bit to meet my 1000/month average goal.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it.

I doubt I'd ever spend the money to buy one for myself, but it's cool that I get to ride one for an hour to see what they're all about. I'm glad he didn't find one like 5 minutes from his house. :)

Sometimes the world conspires for fun

I've got a buddy who just took the MSF and got his license, and has been bike shopping. He really wants one of the new-style Ninja 250s to learn on. I told him I'd be glad to go test ride bikes for him and ride whatever he buys home. I was all excited he wanted a new 250 because I've never ridden on...

I get out of work at 6pm sharp from downtown. I could *maybe* make 6:30 if I haul ass, can easily do 7pm. I'd love to get some after-work rides in.
