I use earphones instead of the speakers provided... not sure if the Scala allows for that but if it does I am leaning that direction.

Another option that I might go back to is the Scala Rider. I never had any issues with mine back in the day and they always did what they said they would. I had it done a long time ago in Va. I used a place called Lasic Plus but that has been ......10-15 years ago. I think just about any place would be good. The surgery is done mainly by computers and such these days. I know when I did mine it included a rebuff if ever needed.... but I haven't needed ...

Interesting. I have been looking more and more into the chatterbox though. The newer units are comparable to the sena in size and price but it has a much better range and no limit on how many can connect as it uses radio channels.
