Avatar?
I bumped into a couple group members, Rick & Chris, at a Dell conference in Austin last week. We ended up ridding back to DFW as a group and they referred me to the site. I live in Dallas and like to ride with a group when time/weather allows. Hopefully I can make to some of the public events on the Calendar. So…

Re: Avatar?
Fixxer told me about you and he was wondering if you were going to sign up. He is currently out on a club ride. Welcome to the boards. Club rides are posted by a ride leader and can be found in the club ride section. We also go to the Fox and Hound (in south Fort Worth) the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month (what we call bike night), if you ever want to come hang out with us, you are more than welcome to meet the rest of us. Glad you found us!!
BTW, nice bike (and I like the first one for an avatar)!

WOW! I'm not that hardcore. 450 miles Thu/Fri did me in for the weekend (except maybe a MTB ride).
And Thanks! I really like the 10. I've had it since 06 and have had nothing boot good experiences.
Nice Ninja 250. My fiancé has the metallic green 2012 model.

Re: Avatar?
He went because our 15 year old bugged him to go, so she is two-upping it with him and he is a ride leader in training (if possible, he wants to get some of his rides done for that). He was pretty tired when he came home.
I hope she never gives you any trouble. Fixxer is having some "suzuki" issues with his. Not really sure what the problem is but supposedly other bikes are having the same suzuki issue.
Thanks! I love my bike. Mine is the 2010 special edition (I brought her home in 2010 so I have only been riding for a little over 1.5 years). Some day I will upgrade but my 250 still has a lot to teach me. I was going to go with a GSXR600 but if suzuki doesn't fix their issue, I will most likely be going with a honda CBR. That is pretty cool that your woman rides! You both should come out to bike night and some club rides. She won't be the only chick there

Re: Avatar?
Welcome to the boards! You should try and make it to the next bike night!
You're finally seeing the light! Just kidding - I don't think you're going to be able to find a bike manufacturer that produces trouble-free bikes across the board. They all have their little knicks, with some worse than others. If I was shopping for a Japanese 600ccm bike, I'd focus on ergonomics first, and then consider reliability, availability, and cost. You may also want to consider the Daytona 675, which is an absolutely phenomenal bike. Are the problems that Fixxer is having electrical or mechanical?Telomere wrote:I was going to go with a GSXR600 but if suzuki doesn't fix their issue, I will most likely be going with a honda CBR.

Re: Avatar?
Not really sure. He has posted up about his cold start problem on here somewhere. I only noticed it when we took that trip to Big Bend because when we were leaving Roswell, his bike would not start and when it did, the exhaust was super rich smelling. I would guess, electrical but I am not anywhere close to being a mechanic. He has said that he hasn't had the problem since he has had the bike on the battery tender. That makes me wonder if the charge in his battery is just low enough to make the computer bitch? I don't know. When he had Cyclewerkz install the exhaust and quickshifter, he mentioned it to Dave and I think Dave said it sounds like a bad ECU.
Re: Avatar?
Hey man you made it! Turismon (chris) isn't very active on here, but he pops in from time to time, but I'm a board and road whore. I would have went out yesterday too if I hadn't slept in with things to do around the house.
My suzuki issue is electronic, when its cold sometimes it likes to run on only 3 cylinders for a while, appearntly lots of them have this issue with no solid fix.

Welcome. On the Avatar question, I'd use the one of the bike by itself. In your profile there should be an option to upload custom avatars.

Welcome to the boards. Keep an eye out on the events section for bike nights, and other gatherings that may pop up; as well as on the rides section for any rides.
