Re: Phelps
When you speed, you're endangering other people's lives. Not so with pot-smoking.

Re: Phelps
If I am speeding on a back road with no cars around other than the cop hiding behind the tree I am not endangering anyone other than myself. Yet the cop still gives me a ticket. Also not many motorcycle accidents end with the death of anyone other than the motorcycle.

Speeding in itself does not endanger anybody.
Every single morning I speed on the way to work, because everybody does 70 in a 60. If I was doing the speed limit, I would be MORE dangerous than if I was speeding.

You cant surrender like that... I already surrendered (was just talking about speeding not hurting other people ... nothing to do with drugs).
If there was a vote today to try to make drugs legal I would simply not vote.... I can not support making it legal but I also see that people should be free to choose so the only thing I could think to do is stay out of the fight. Then after all is said and done I could use my own freedom to move my family to the place that I feel is the best place for them to live.... I don't think ill have to worry about it for a couple more years though.

Re: Phelps
Why not make all drugs legal??? It would reduce the risk, thus driving down outrageous prices (risk vs. reward)and eliminating the crime associated with it (i.e. burglary, theft, violence, etc...). It would become, in most cases with the really dangerous drugs, a self cleaning problem.
I know, "damn Digger that is pretty harsh!!"... Yes it is harsh, however it would restore an equilibrium regarding personal responsibility... Kinda like the criminal law does now, but the stakes are much higher - you screw the pooch, you pay dearly.... Easy as that...
In all reality, this idea of true personal responsibility (as opposed to a proxy type, law based responsibility to the general population) to one's self is pretty universal and quite scalable...
Just my $.02

When I take over the world, prostitution will be legal and regulated, the economy will get a HUGE boost from a legal drug industry (tax revenue there too). cartells will be a thing of the past when you can buy legal pot.

Na, cartells will just turn into legal companies, kind of like Vegas.

The people who run the country make too much money off importing and selling illegal drugs to give it up.

Yea, but wouldn't you just call them "companies" at that point?DarcShadow wrote:Na, cartells will just turn into legal companies, kind of like Vegas.
