One tip about the 1.3--ignore where the track *looks* like it goes and learn the actual line.
There are some areas that are designed to throw you off. Whoever designed it created chicanes that are mostly there for decoration, and to trick newbies into actually making turns instead of just riding a straight line from apex to apex.
The whole section from turn 1 to the hairpin is a LOT faster than L1 riders tend to take it. It's kind of like Ricochet, you just have to sack up and go for it (which admittedly is easier said than done).
