I need help repairing my bike

I like the new website!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I need some help!!!!!!
I layed my bike down this past weekend (Honda CBR F4i 600) :( , I was going about 10 mph so the damage is not that bad. It looks like I may need to replace the lower cowl and front fender, along with the signal lights. Does anyone know of a good repair shop where I can get all this fixed in DFW. I pulled up the parts on line; is it easy to change out these parts or should I get a professional to do the work?

Do it yourself. You will save a ton by not having to pay for labor. Your owners manual should have directions on how to remove all of the fairings. I would only take it to a shop if you think you messed up more than just the fairings. I used to have a F4, they are relatively easy to do maintenance on. Good Luck.

Fairings are easy to get off -- after the first time. Just go buy a set of allen keys (the T-style ones are the best) and take your time finding all the screws. On average I have mine off once a week lately....... :roll:

Buy the plastic from Cycle Werkz they will beat any dealer price.

As for the labor to install the plastic it is about $100.
Replacing the upper and the tail can be tricky and a pian.
i guess it depends on you. Me I pay them to do it, but some would rather do it themselves.

If you want used plastic ebay is the best way to go.

As for getting a pro to do the work that you don't feel comfortable doing ... CycleWerkz (Hwy 80 west) for anything mechanical, Colorworks (Keller) for repairs to plastics rather than replacing. Post up your list of things to be replaced. There's probably a wrench monkey on the board that would like to help you do it yourself and learn from it.
