Battery?
So last Sunday had to have the bike push started after the last gas stop. I guess charging the phone/ go pro/ and BT took its toll. Got the bike home and didnt even have enough juice to keep both headlights working. It was kinda strange because there was no sign of pending issue at the earlier stops, and at last stop it didnt have enough juice to crank.
Charged the battery and havent had an issue since, but I did notice that the charger never goes green. Just the red and orange lights. I've left it charging overnight and same thing. Part way through the first recharge I metered the battery and pulled 11.5 volts, but havent checked it since then.
Think its time for a new battery? This battery was purchased last year in June during the ROT rally when that battery died.

Re: Battery?
Deep drains kill batteries. Have you deep drained it before?

Re: Battery?
I was having the same issue on my CBR, it ended up being the R/R and stator. Even with the new parts the battery was still shot so once the battery is dead flat a couple times then its time for a new one. The battery I had in it was purchased in September of last year, it didnt last very long.

What would you be if you were attached to another object by an incline plane, wrapped helicly around an axis?

Re: Battery?
I have one of those battery load testers I can bring up here after this weekend. They are usually good about telling if it's good or bad. I have an electronic charger that has a capacity readout on it when it charges. Batteries that never reach the 100% mark on that thing are usually bad and test bad on the tester.

Re: Battery?
I had the exact same problem. Ended being a bad battery. I would charge it and go awhile and then nothing. Take it to the battery store and they will test it. And while you're at it check and see how many volts your pulling with the bike turned on...should be in the neighborhood of 14.6

Re: Battery?
A couple of low-voltage (cell phone, gopro, bluetooth) chargers shouldn't pull enough amps to put a strain on the charging system or battery.

Re: Battery?
Yes, like letting it drain until it won't start the bike. Even if you can recharge it, it loses a bunch of capacity. Do it a few times and the battery is toast.Maddox wrote:Deep drain? as in dead battery?
Re: Battery?
Pull it and let it trickle charge over night, take it off the charger, let it sit for an hour then check the voltage. Should be in the high 12.X's, like 12.6 to 12.8 range (can't remember off the top of my head). a 12v bettery reading just 12 volts after sitting on a charger all night is toast.

Check the battery terminals are clean and tight. Otherwise check previous posts, all the above.

Re: Battery?
My stator went out on my bike. Charging the battery would work for a few days and then nothing.
